So sorry for doing this but i have to vent my annoyance on people who i know will care...
A really good friend of mine has been texting me today because her boyfriend of 3 weeks as asked her to move in with him..which i am totally pleased about but, she can't possibly take her cat!!! a cat flap in patio doors would look horrible..this poor cat which she got from a rescue centre because her previous owner didn't want her is going to be moved on again..shes only just had her a year & shes come on leaps & bounds, from a shy cat to an out going adventurous ickle girl. I would have her but snooch wouldn't accept her..another friend who has a small holding might take her, which will be good but that means 3 moves before shes even had her 3rd birthday... :censored: :censored: I feel that Jas was a substitute for my friend until someone came along who could love her... >:(
-
Another pet hate of mine are people that take in pets to suit their own lifestyle..... :censored: :censored:
-
>:(
So a boyfriend she's only known for 3 weeks takes priority over a pet she promised a home to forever. Poor thing.
-
I Know!!!
The thing that worries me the most is that my friend doesn't have the best luck with guys..so what happens if she moves in & it all goes wrong..will she want jas back or get another cat until some1else comes along..i feel really bad for thinking like that about her but i just love cats way to much..i would never treat Snooch that way..its me & my cat or not at all...good job i have a him in-doors that loves Snooch just as much as i do... ;D
-
If she does move in with the guy and gives away the poor kitty maybe you could try to discourage her from having pets again until she is more stable.
-
Defo!! I did try when she got Jas because i thought she was doing it for the wrong reasons but she went ahead anyway..

I get so cross with people like this...I'm glad she's your friend and not mine >:(
Anyway why doesn't the guy move in with her?

He has just finished doing a house up which i'm sure he wouldn't want to give up..it would be the obvious solution though..aaarrrgghh..i'm so frustrated with her at the mo..shes so bloody selfish..i'm looking to move at the mo & i wont buy a house unless i feel that snooch will be safe & happy there..
-
Thank you so much for letting me vent my concerns & for understanding :Luv: :thanks:
-
Well, no. The obvious solution would be to worry a bit less about how "unsightly" a cat flap would look in patio doors and understand your girlfriend comes as a package with the cat she promised to care for until the end.
People like this drive me mad. Poor you.

if it has come from a rescue she may have signed something to say it must go back to them, tell her to check her paperwork

that has made my blood boil. How stupid can and selfish can some one in love can be. Sorry to hear that Rachel
-
How can she even think about moving in with someone after 3 weeks????? She must be SO desperate for a bloke! My ex moved in with me after 5 MONTHS and that was too soon-we had 10 years of misery!
Hope the poor little cat finds some one who deserves her! :'(
-
*coughs* My partner moved in with me pretty much after a fortnight.... :shy: We're still together 11 years later. I do think it's very fast, though - especially if there already ground rules that mean she has to change herself. Not a good start as far as I'm concerned.
-
What a pathetic, vacuous woman. I hope she gets dumped just when she is feeling secure. What is good for Jas is good for her >:(
I suppose she expected sympathy, or to be told "It's alright" :tired:

Tbh, someone with this mentality is better off without a pet. It's this type of person who gets rid of a cat because they don't like fur on the sofa or scratching, or if she lived in the USA she would probably declaw the poor thing. Who cares what things look like if they necessary for a cat's welfare. That wouldn't be high up on my list of priorities.

only 10 years? I'm up to 25 and counting - and that was after 2 years of going out.
(perhaps there a link, the longer you leave it the more misery you have ( :briggin:)
-
I found this picture, I have to say I don't think it looks that unsightly....
-
They can always put one in the wall if they own the property. I wouldn't fancy doing it but Ron (Lost Cats) did it himself in his back wall.
-
You can also get totally clear ones

Of course she did Mark..but i haven't given any or said that its alright because it aint.... :(I found this picture, I have to say I don't think it looks that unsightly....
Thanks for the pic & your right it looks fine to me...

LMAO Angie  It would've been longer but i got rid nearly 3 years ago!
Jackspratt, i think that looks good!

If it is toughened glass in a door, you have to get whole new panel made so I'm not sure if that would be possible if it is uPVC.
This is for a dog flap in a wall but the same principle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JN9zAwPsAVY&feature=related
Not too much trouble really (I would get a builder to do it for me to be on the safe side :evillaugh: )
TBH, I think a wall one is better for security.
OH had a wall one in the old house next to the patio door.

:scared:
I just hope wherever Jas ends up she will be really really happy. Its mad how some people drop everything as soon as they are in a relationship. You take these animals into your home and promise them forever. I'll pray for little Jas to land on her paws. :shy:
-
>:( I just cannot understand how you wouldn't adore a cat you have lived with after
a few days a year.
-
Does her boyfriend want the cat? Is it him who is persuading her to make an excuse for not having it?
My signature that I've had for over 2 years now on purrs says it all - love me, love my cat, don't love my cat, P*** Off.
