Well, things seem to have been slow down in the South this year, but I have my first pregnant cat of the year.
She was being fed by a very nice couple for the past couple of weeks and they have said they are willing to give her a lovely indoor home after she has weaned her kittens, so that is good.
She was a bit hesitant of me at first but came to me immediately I called "Miaow Miaow", so she chose her own name is now called "Miaow Miaow".
The pictures really do not do her justice or show the size of her belly so the competition can now start of when? how many? and what colours?

Bless, she reminds me of a goat in that first pic :naughty: :Luv: How long do you think she has to go Lesley?

You must have some strange goats in your part of the world
Vet reckons she has two to three weeks to go but she seems quite large in the belly to me. That said, I thought the first pregnant cat I had in was going to give birth any minute due to her size, and she went on for a further month  so I am certainly no expert.
-
I meant the shape of her side/belly in the first pic and that distinctive goat-like parting of the fur, hard to explain but my first thought was goat! :Luv:
She is very cute and I have a feeling her babies will be too :Luv2:
-
June 14th, 5 kittens. two torties like mum, 2 black and a ginger boy.

I see what you mean now. :Luv2:

That's very precise Angie. Seeing my litters seem to follow your litters, have you had a load like that recently.
-
She's a very pretty puss! Hope all goes well at the birth! :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Beautiful girl! :Luv:
-
I think 6 kittens with 2 ginger 2 tortie and 2 black and white ;D
Not a clue when but she is very beautiful ;D
-
I'll go with five - two black and whites, a black, a torti and a ginger. ;)
-
oh Lesley - what was it you said the other day ;) lol
mum is a real beauty and am very sure her kittens will be too - though aren't they all!
Looking forward to updates
-
She's a very pretty girl - great news about the people having her back too as mums can be so difficult to rehome.
Kitten season is very slow here in our area (South Devon) We wondered if it was the harsh winter? Fortunately there doesn't seem to be the mad panic there was this time last year.
Hope all goes well with her - I'm opting for 17th June 1 tortie, 3 black !!!
-
I think some of your dates may be a bit too distant. Just sat watching Miaow Miaow as she is having a rest and her belly is moving like there is a boxing match going on in her tummy  It looks a bit like something out of an alien film when you see the monster moving around inside someone :evillaugh:
-
tell her she has to wait 10 days
-
She seems very uncomfortable this morning, not wanting to lay on her belly at all, but on her side. She is drinking quite alot but I suppose that is just the weather today.
I have taken the crate down as she would never go in it and it was taking up too much room. Have supplied her with a lovely wicker basket and a large dog carrier with a heated bed (it's turned off at the moment though), covered over to make it nice and dark and quiet. She didn't show any interest in either of them in the last few days. Hunted around because I thought I had a feliway spray but can't find it anywhere. So I sprayed it with catnip spray and within two minutes she was inside. Just a minute ago she had made herself very comfy in it but is now back to her favourite position of on her side in the middle of the floor. Kittens seems to be playing football inside today.
I would be surprised if she made it past the weekend and has about 3-5 kittens but, I am probably wrong. :innocent:
-
I reckon 5 too. :sneaky: Definitely a ginger in there I would think. ;)
Fingers crossed! :wow:
-
Telling myself not to look at your thread Lesley!! Pete would have kittens himself If he came home to find a new resident.lol I would have another black one. I love them.
Mum is gorgeous, kittens will be proper little beautys.

I'll be sure to let you know if there are any little black beauties then. ;)
-
She is lovely :Luv: hope all goes well for her and good to hear she has a home awaiting :)
et: Ithink she'll have 2 black and whites, 2 black and a ginger and white.
-
hope she has a safe and pain free labour! 5, 3 black, one tortie one ginger, Monday ;-)
-
4, all black. ;)
-
How is Mum to be?
I'm getting tempted by a kitten!! :Luv:
Nicky
-
Well the weekend has gone and still no kittens. :tired: She is huge so I am hoping it will be sometime this week, will keep everyone updated.
-
she just wants to keep you on your tip toes hun!
-
Miaow Miaow seems restless tonight and has been in her basket a few times and is licking her rear end quite a bit, so will be staying up with her tonight - anybody want to join me
-
She's only kidding !! Just making sure you're paying attention !! Good luck xx

You're probably right

:luck: - hope all goes well for her :)

Any news?
-
Only sad news so far I am afraid :'(. Stayed up with her until about 7am then decided to get an hours sleep.
When I came back in she had a kitten by her side but still completely in the sac. Tried to revive it but it was gone. Heard the meows of another kitten and found it buried underneath her. All seemed well, until I managed to get a good look and most of her intestines were on the outside of her body.
Rushed both mum and kitten to the vet but there was nothing we could do for the little one, so I had to let her go in my hand - one of the hardest things I have ever done, How do you get so attached to something so small that is ony minutes old. :(
My vet thinks she still has more inside so have got her back home and comfortable and will have to wait and see. :tired:
-
Oh Lesley, how sad. Hoping you and Meow Meow have it a bit easier with the last little one.
-
Oh how awful for you Lesley, and poor Meow Meow :'( Couldn't the vet have done a ceasarian (sp) to get the other/others out, just in case?
-
She does not appear to be in any discomfort and we both believe she gave birth naturally so don't want to do ceasarian unnecessarily. She is sleeping at the moment so I am going to spend the day with her. Any sign of problems and I will get her to the hospital asap.
-
Such sad news - and we were all so excited about their arrival too.
This must be very hard for you, this sadly is the true face of rescue. With all the joys they bring there is always sadness too. :(
Be kind to yourself, all the best for the rest of the day. I only hope she has at least one live kitten to love and nuture.
-
We have a little tortie girl, born 1.06pm. :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
And a black and white, born 1.20 pm. ;D
-
RIP little ones. :(
Fantastic for the safe arrivals. :wow: I told you you would get a tortie. ;)
-
The black and white one must be a male, squeaking his little head off and not able to work out what a teat is for. Meanwhile, little tortie is eating for all she is worth. :Luv:
-
Awww, lovely to hear, Lesley
-
You must be emotionally exhausted but this sounds like great news. Hopefully that's her little family complete for now.
(I did once have another kitten arrive 28 hours after what I thought was the last and thankfully all was well)
Keep us posted and have a quiet ten minutes for yourself if you can xx

I second that. Reckon you'll need it with the little bundles of trouble :)
-
So sorry to hear about the little ones that didn't make it
Hope Mum and her other babies thrive :Luv2:
-
Both babies now suckling like pros and mum looking very contented. I don't think the tortie has let go for about two hours. ;D
-
Awww, bless them all! :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Great to hear some happier news from you, Lesley. So pleased. :) Hope Mumcat is coping. You too, of course!
-
It's amazing to see how different they are even after just a few hours old. The little boy is a real rascal and always wants the teat his sister has got and spends ages trying to get her off it. He's got seven others to choose from
-
Sorry to hear about the poor little ones. But congratulations on the other 2. Hope all is well with them and mum.
Take care, and try and get some sleep tonight.
Nicky x
-
aww I'm so sorry to hear about the little ones that didn't make it :'( RIP xx
Hope that mum and the other babes are doing well now
-
what a shame and such a horrible thing for you. It's a message for all those kitty breeders - thing don't always go well.
Hope the other two continue to thrive.
-
Bit worried this evening. Both kittens seems to be continually fighting over one teat and I have tried squeezing other ones and they do seem to have milk but they just keep going back to this one. Is it just sibling rivalry or should I be worried?
-
Sounds like they've both imprinted themselves to go to the same teat. I'd try expressing a little bit from a different teat so they can taste it and latching one of them on to it. I'm sure they'll figure it out eventually.
-
Thanks Julie, that's what I thought. I think I have managed to wean one of them onto another teat. :thanks:
-
Sorry to hear about the first two, fingers crossed these two continue to thrive.
-
How are Mum & babies getting on Lesley?
-
Everyone is doing great, babies seem very contented and Miaow Miaow is being a good mum. Will try to get some piccies of them later, need some new batteries for my camera.
-
Awww lovely to hear! :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
That's great news :)

Finally pleased to introduce to you Truman (named after a very special man :Luv2: :Luv2:) and Willow (hope you approve Mark, you did choose the name in the auction a couple of years ago and I thought it was an appropriate time ).
Truman is the black and white rascal and Willow the lovely little tortie.

Thanks Leslie
This is really weird :scared: - I had a nightmare last night that woke me up and it took me ages to get back to sleep. I was in the vets next door and there was a cat that was in a tiny carrier - it may have been a hamster cage  - I went for a closer look and it was our Willow. I took her out thinking that we must have been wrong when we thought she had died. I took her out of the carrier and brought her into the house to show OH. When I looked again, she was a tortie  - Somehow she managed to get away and I was running around a strange park with houses looking for her - I think that is when I woke up. I told OH about it this morning and just have said how spooky - OH said (sarcastically :evillaugh: ) that I am psychic :evillaugh:
I know it sounds far fetched and
-
Too cute! :Luv:
-
Just caught up with this thread and seen the gorgeous pics of Truman Jnr and Willow. How amazing.
-
Not much to report on Truman Jnr and Willow, all they do is sleep and eat :Luv2: Mum is being very good although she does leave them for quite long periods and sleeps on the floor next to them, but it never seems to bother them, they just sleep and dream alot, they are always twitching  and they are always snuggled up together which is so sweet. Looking at them now, Willow looks like she will be bigger than Truman Jnr.
-
Really sorry to hear about the little ones Lesley its always horrible when these things happen and no matter how long you have them with you you can't help but get attached to new life
Its great to see mum, truman jr and willow doing well though and they are all :Luv2:
Sending lots of positive get bigger vibes from the crew -
-
Truman Jnr has started opening his eyes today but Willow has decided there is nothing worth seeing yet
Some more piccies for you :Luv2:

Gorgeous photos :Luv2: :Luv2:
I'm just sooo taken by such tiny toes and paw pads :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Both Willow and Truman Jnr have now opened their eyes and I can't believe how big they are, now I have another one day old in, - they look huuuuge  Willl try to update with photos soon.
Am pleased to announce that Willow has been reserved and is going to live with one of my kittens from last year when she is old enough. :Luv2: I know she will be spoilt rotten so I am dead chuffed.
-
The latest pictures of these two. I can't believe how big they have got and how they are already crawling around and holding their heads up.
