I have just rescued another baby bunny form the jaws of Jerry - thats the third in two days. With this lovely weather they are all out almost all the time - even Stevie managed to catch one! Mind he had no idea what to do with it , but its good to know he does have SOME cat instincts! :evillaugh:

I have seen them around for quite a while now on country roads but luckily we don't get them in town :scared:
However, not long before I had to leave for an exam the other day, I went around doing a head count and kylie came out of the bushes looking sheepish. I was fussing her and heard rustling. A starling fledgling came hopping up through the bushes and was hopping along the ivy on the wall. It got onto the flat roof next door and was sitting in an old unused chimney pot. I couldn't get to it. I had to get ready to leave. Just before I left, I had another look and the mother kept flying down and encouraged it to go into some ivy. I felt awful but had to leave. It wasn't there when I got back so I hope it was just in shock and managed to fly away. I think it was their first day out of the nest. I googled and it said they don't fly very well for the first few days. OH said it would happen as the birds keep eating the dry cat food I put out for hedgies etc :(

It is horrible! For some reason mine don't really go for birds that much , I guess bunnies are more appealing.

Its froggy season too :( madam Gwynnie has just come running in with froglet in her mouth - managed to rescue it and put it in the long grass, hope it survives.

I had a 7 legged bunny in the kitchen tonight along with 2 moles and a newt and it has rained here today!

Oh dont, we have had so many poor little critters in the last few days, Ripley came in with a rabbit foot in his mouth the other day, there is no way he caught the rabbit, it would have been one of his naughty sisters Ruby Red Drawers or Piccalli Polkadot Pants they are extreme hunters :(

When one of my rabbits was a baby I remember standing in the kitchen on the phone, the next minute Harry came walking through with the rabbit in his mouth going to take it outside  having been brought up with rabbits he doesn't go for them now and has never brought a rabbit home, I really wouldn't know what to do if he did :( His choice of prey seems to be birds, which I am petrified of :scared:
