Oscar is one of my ex-fosters, who went a bit off colour the back end of last week, but the vets thought it was just a bug, gave him ab's and Vitbee, but he didn't perk up. Bloods were done on Mon that showed his kidney levels aren't good and there are some other bits that aren't right (low white cell, so definitely some kind of infection), but the vet feels it is ARF, so he is spending 24 hours at the vets on a drip, and they are then going to see what his levels are like. He isn't that old, my vet estimated him at 8-12 when he was picked up 16 months ago, but he has had lots of problems, bless him.

WEll, I spoke to his owners again last night, the vet didn't do the scan as he was rather grumpy with being in a cage and on fluids. They actually got his numbers, and it isn't as severe as they first though, his Urea is 20.9, and his creatnine is in the 200's, so there is a really good chance for him. They are hoping to do more bloods and a scan today and hopefully he will be home, unless they feel he needs another 24 hours on a drip.
-
That sounds a bit more positive then, keeping fingers crossed for him xx

More vibes on their way from me ollie and tyler

Thanks - his scan yesterday showed no issues with his kidneys, however he wasn't able to walk after his scan, it is like he has got some kind of nerve damage, but he was fine before his scan so the vet is really puzzled. They have kept him in overnight and going to x-ray him today. So more vibes please.
-
Poor Oscar, I do hope he soon improves xx
-
Good luck  - just wondering if it is neuro to come & go like that.
-
Best of luck

WEll, the x-ray showed something with his spinal cord, but his owners couldn't take it all in. He has been sent to the emergency vets for the weekend on steroids, and if they dont show any effect in 48 hours, it isn't promising - he isn't lame, just drags his back legs behind him. The vet said they could take him to a neurologist for a dye inserting, but it is very risky and might not give any answers, so they are understandably rather reluctant to do that.

I do hope that the news is better after this weekend, poor Oscar xx

Do hope that Oscar improves
