Riff got into a fight yesterday and i was up very late and around 3 am when i was going to bed i di my usual give riff a little bit of a fuss and felt something on his stomach he had a wound on his stomach around his chest and one that he found quite painful on his leg so took him in as quickly as i could and apparently the one on his leg is quite deep so ive had to leave him there overnight :'( ive never had to leave any of them overnight at the vets so im a bit down tonight cause i hate leaving any of them
-
Hope that Riff's wounds aren't too bad and he's soon home
-
Oh dear, I hope that Riff will be OK and heal quick
-
i hope so too especially since the other 2 are missing him and so am i i love all my cats but riff is my baby me and him have more of a bond than the others he knows when to be there for you even if you dont know you need him there
-
Aww hope is is better and home soon. You feel like a part of you is missing when they have to stay at vets over night. I know that feeling well
Hugs to you Kally

well ive just spoke to them and apparently he has just been sedated and he will be ready to pick up roughly 8:30 pm i know they try their best as i say i volunteer there its just frustrating i cud of take him home last night and took him in this morning if it was going to take this long
-
Whats was he sedated for and how is he?
-
he was sedated to have the wounds flushed and stiched not sure how he is cause waiting for their call back
-
Poor boy
-
HES HOME!!!! he had to have stitches in all 3 wounds and he is still as cheeky as ever is it normal for one of the other cats to be a bit diorientated with him now? (hes got a cone on)
-
yes he will smell different and the collar is probably scaring the other cat.
He was badly hurt, how do you think it happened?
Lovwe to him from me
-
Good to hear that Riff is home again ;D
yep he will just have the vet smell on him for a short while.
-
Glad he is back and OK - I'm surprised they left it so long to clean his wounds out though.
-
he got attacked by the same uneutered male stray that attacked chiana
-
Oh dear, can't you trap the un-neutered male?
-
i havent got a trap but im working on it ive got him booked in to be neutered next week cause hes costing me about £70 in vet bills im glad its rspca i got to otherwise itd be a lot more
-
CP usually are able to loan you a trap, have you contacted them?
-
I'm glad he's home  He will be sporting eau de vet's surgery which doesn't go down too well with other cats but that will wear off.
-
RSPCA altrincham are going to lend me one when they get it back i rang more than 1 rspca branch but i just got a lecture about how if he has an owner they cud sue me for getting him neutered well i have the opinion id sue them for cost of vet bills
-
i know this sounds stupid but how big should his buster collar be i know obviously big enough to make sure he cant lick his wounds but ive got a 10 one for him and a 7.5 but he didnt seem to be coping wll enough with the 10 and with the 7.5 he was cleaning lil too close to the wound on his stomach for my liking but was just wondering whether there was any general advice about size when putting a buster collar on
-
Its normally a 10 for adults, its difficult watching them isnt it  gooey coped really well with his 2 weeks as a cone head so although i felt sorry for him it wasnt a struggle.
Hows his wound looking, does he have stitches in it? If he copes better in the 7.5cm and cant get right at the wound id be tempted to watch him in that and see how he goes
-
his wound is looking ok but the stitches came out so the vet gave me some cream to help the healing and ive cut the 10 one in between the 2 cause i found that he cant eat with it being a full 10 and for some reason doesnt like u watching him eat but if u take the collar off and let him eat alone he will try to clean it but to be honest doesnt look like hes cleaned it at all
-
but ive decided i cant keep watching him like crazy to see if hes licking it im taking him bk later on this week anyway so we will see what the vet says then
-
Regarding the buster Collar. I had a 7.5 one on Ollie for his skin problem on his face. He managed a way round it and scratched his face to bits. He now was the size 10 and he cant get near his face. He is starting to get used to it thankfully
