Title: Tilda was spayed without pre-anaesthetic blood testing today
Post by: chimpzoo on March 30, 2007, 21:06:36 PM
...and she was fine as the majority of people on here predicted, so thanks, you saved me £££  :)

i might have to spent it anyway as the vet said she has really inflamed gums - she is teething though - i found one on the carpet 2 weeks ago, but the vet thinks they might be too red for that to be the cause. So possibly it could be gingivitis or at worst a sign of FIV. I'm getting a blood test done in 6 weeks time (because the cost of the spay was enough for this month) so i'll find out then.

Am glad it went well - Tinky, one of my ex fosters had inflamed gums, she has the calicivirus, so when you can get the blood tests done, make sure they include that. As far as I know though, Becky was able to claim it back through insurance, but will drop her a note to ask her.

Glad Tilda is now bitless  :)
Theres a food supplement called Plaque Off, its made of seaweed and helps to keep their mouths in good shape, i use it for one of mine who suffers with gingivitis and swellings. Vet uk are the best price that iv found so far

glad all went well  ;D

My cody has perfect teeth and gums but around the teeth margin on the gum theres a red line but this "can" be normal in many cats and not necessarily gingivitis.

Hope her tests are ok when the time come.

I'm glad it went well and that Tilda is fine.

I use plaque off and it's very good.  A small tub lasts ages too so it works out pretty cheap.

hopefully it's just teething and not gingivitis or FIV, there's a lot of "if's" and i'm not going to worry myself until i get the blood test done.
