If anyone is about and can spare a few vibes for Mr T and me - Ive had to leave him at the vet this morning so that they can try and find out with more accuracy whats been making him so "down".
Hes going to have a blood pressure check - possibly xrays - possibly blood tests.
Hes been much brighter over the last few days and I feel like a complete **** leaving him there :'( Ok - I know it needs to be done but .... he cant hear, cant see and must be pretty confused as to what the heck is going on. :(
-
I hope it goes well and hes home and being pampered again very soon

You are showing what a loving and caring mum you are, its only 2 week since I left Minimopsical with the vet so I know just how much you are hurting.
Hoping vet spots something that can be treated and that Mr T is soon back to his happy self

:'( :'( :'( I want my cat back!
I dont know how long its going to take but I miss him SOOOOOOOOOOOO much!
Hes been there since 9.00am ... :( :( :(
Im hoping it just means theyre being thorough - not that theyve found something wrong
Im not very good a this :'( :'( :'(
-
Blood Pressure normally taken several times during day so vet is being thorough,

  Hoping you get some good news from the vet. As T says, the fact that Mr T has been there so long is not in itself anything to worry about. A single BP measurement is meaningless, and the initial ones are often high because the cat is stressed by something new. It happens with humans as well - known as white coat syndrome. When Korky had his BP done he was in for most of the day and you could see from the numbers the point at which he started to relax.

These are for you WC

I hope your boy is back with you soon and with nothing serious showing up
-
I so hope that Mr T will be back with you soon and nothing found, just old age creeping on
Sasa also sends her love

Hooray hes home again!
Hes still man of mystery
His blood pressure is very high - but at present we do not know the cause.
So the next stage is to lower that. He has been prescribed Amlodipine and fortekor - the vets has picked up a slight heart murmur
So there we are ; another appointment to monitor progress in a weeks time.
Hes knackered - I'm knackered!
Tea for me - water for him - he knows hes home nd his purring his little head off on our sofa.
I will keep you all updated and thanks so much for all those good vibes - right now hes looking better than me! This is going to cost me a fortune in Kleenex :-[ :shy:
-
He`s home thats the main thing

:thanks:
All of you helped so much yesterday - just knowing people out there care :)
I'm pleased to say Sir has been a good boy - I hid his pills in a spoonfull of "smelly food" this morning and ... he ate the lot and promptly asked for more! :wow:
OK - it was 4.00am but thats the time his "tummy clock" goes off! :tired: Hes always woken with the dawn so I'm very happy that he is back to his usual schedule.
He is, right now, on the sofa (although his sight is very poor, he can still negotiate that OK) and hes actually lying on my nightdress. I had to pop out briefly this morning nd he clearly did not want me to go - following me about - so I gave him that that to sit on in the hope it would be snuggly! It clearly is as he hasn't left it since!
thanks again, everyone - just hope that he doesn't catch on to the fact that his breakfast is "spiked" :evillaugh:

You'll be amazed how agile a cat with little or no sight can be, once they've got used to it themselves :) Max could still play with balls if he could hear them, and could even manage the windowsill once we'd put some 'steps' there to help him up there!
Glad the hidden tablet ploy worked well too, always nice when giving tablets is nice and easy like that!
Hope you have a lovely snuggly weekend
-
Delighted for you both that he's home and he is eating and happier than he was :). Great that he's also taking his meds without any fuss and hope they do the trick with his blood pressure quickly
-
So pleased he is home safe and sound. Hope they find out whats wrong. Give him a hug from me.
On a lighter note My Dad (70) and Nan (87) are both on Amlodipene they are good on it. :)

You must be doing something right Christine - he's fighting to stay with you.Hope Chloe's cuddling up with him too.

Another morning where hes been a good lad and taken his medicine Ok :)
Chloe definitely knows hes not himself - they have never been great "cuddlers" of eachother, but she is being much more tolerant with him .
She now lets him eat without pushing past him and moves aside for him if he makes his way across the room. My guess is she know he cant see.
He is back to jumping up on my lap for cuddles ... and making the most of us fussing him - so far this morning, apart from his breakfast hes had one lot of treats from me and another lot from OH :evillaugh:
Now thats NOT the cat he was last weekend - his cheekiness is returning! YAY!! :wow:
-
REally pleased to hear this. Norman amazed me, he was partially blind, and didn't know my house, yet he even mastered the stairs - and my stairs dont have backs on, I fell up them quite a lot when I first moved in, yet he never did!
-
So pleased cheeky Mr T is rreturning and Sasa sends a squirty cream blob ;D
