I read about this the other day. Apparently cats can recognise a face quicker than a computer.

I loved this bit:
The future artificial cat will have a superior attitude and will include constant decision making. Cats crave attention when they want to and will sometime decide to answer an invite for petting. There is also the possibility that the new machine will be affectionate and gentle.

more likely it just go off and do its own thing, computers need to be told what to do, cats never can be :)

Must admit I was thinking on the same lines - no wonder a cat is more intelligent - computers have to be told what to do by humans :evillaugh:

So the Pentagon is working on a computer that's going to become completely comatose under any beam of sunlight, and the entire US defence mechanisms will be able to be overridden by Bin Laden coming along with a pompom on the end of a stick and bit of string then?
How have they managed to work out how a cat's brain works? I sure as heck have never managed to figure out what's going on between the Tripod's ears (I'm actually thinking of sticking a "this space for rent" sign on her forehead because I think it's just empty space up there half the time).
