Has anyone ever heard of them or had them? :shify:
We have certainly been involved in a right old saga involving a puss called Charlie who appeared as a stray but with an untraceable French microchip and consequently had HQ flapping around in a panic. Poor Charlie now has to spend 6 months in a private cattery in quarantine. :tired:
Anyway... the cattery owner says this... Charlie is doing well and is coming out of himself more and more each
day.
His appetite is good and he enjoys playing with the girls.
The mother of one of our kennel staff is a breeder of Pixiebob cats in
Ireland. Her daughter ***** who works here, thought that Charlie looked
very
much like a Pixiebob so sent a couple of photos to her mother to have a
look
at.
Mrs **** is 100% certain that Charlie is a Pixiebob which is a fairly
rare
breed.
We've never heard of a Pixiebob cat although they do show up on Wiki as an officially unrecognised breed which doesn't show a clear genetic marker. :shify: Charlie looks like a standard tabby mogster to us. :evillaugh:

I've heard of them and seen pics of them and theres one breeder in the UK I know of, but don't know much about them, apparently they are bred to look like Bobcats, think they have spotty coats.

I've heard of them and seen photos - probably in one of my cat books.
-
Found this site - they're lovely :Luv2:
Only nice photos no info

I thought Pixie Bobs normally had a very small tuft as a tail. I don't think they are recognised over here, one of the "funny" american breeds.

Iv heard of and read about them but never met in the flesh. Does his chip hold no info at all? :( breed would be listed if he were
-
It's definitely a French chip but the registered address is dead. There doesn't seem to be any information held about the inserter. They seem to have different procedures over there. :tired: So without a traceable owner DEFRA are treating him as an illegal entry. :(
I'll see if I can get a pic. When I met him at Caroline's he didn't look like a exotic cat. :evillaugh:

Thats a shame it just holds a dud address, a pic would be good!
Its appalling no records of passports etc are accessible, poor chap doing time :(
