I think you need to take this cat to the vets today. Also can you get kitten milk for the kittens and syringe them. A VERY short term solution is you cannot get kitten milk would be Goats Milk.

Hi hun, sorry to hear about the mum cat but she really needs to be seen by the vet asap.  She may have an infection that could easily be treated with antibiotics.......you will have to make an appointment for her as having babies to feed and not feeling well isn't a good combination.  Good luck and please keep us posted, xxx

Got to echo what everyone else has said and say that Mummy Cat needs to be seen by a vet.

Hopefully it is nothing, she might just be tired but she really does need to be seen.

As Ela has said, get some kitten milk ready just incase - the fact that they are 3wks old they would prob survive being bottle feed. (if Mummy cannot continue to feed them)

she definately needs a vet today asap regardless of what vet advised on the phone, she could have a uterus infection or be coming down with mastitis 3 wks after giving birth. (both of which will probably need antiobiotics)

regardless of what vet advised on the phone,

It almost seems unbelievable that a vet could give the advice he/she did doesn't it. I cannot think of a vet I know who would have given such advice.

Cat has much improved,

You are more than welcome, yes I think it would be best if you air on the side of caution. Are you going to get mum spayed once the kittens have gone?

My Issey had terrible Mastitis, so bad that it nearly broke through the skin!
I was injecting her daily with antibiotics and bottle feeding the kittens, although she still tried to feed them but you could see the pain on her face and i had to take the kittens off
