Does anyone have any? I'm awful and have hardly any decent pics of my cats except when they're asleep.

I have one or two pics of the boys :naughty:
My top tips would be:
Keep the camera out, that way when they're doing something cute/funny you have half a chance to capture it.
Take pics in natural light, sunny days are best. Pics taken with flash mainly have alien eyes (well mine do anyway!) and they never turn out as good.
Take multiple pics of the same 'scene', digital is free so take lots of pics in the same position - some are bound to be better than the others. My problem is deleting the bad ones, hence why I have rather too many :-[

Also try and take pics at same level as pud instead of looking down on them.
Close ups of cat's eyes are especially fabulous but like Helen says really need to ensure no flash required so daylight best
Be prepared to take 20 pics to get 1 decent one ;) Our lot don't like the flash so tend to turn away when camera is first pointed at them :innocent:

I miss so many oportunities - if Bonnie's downstairs the camera is more likely to be upstairs.
Most of the time it's just pure luck.

Mine are hit or miss but I agree the daylight ones come out best; especially on a sunny day. Helen's are really professional looking but she does have a decent digital SLR - mine is just a point & shoot.

After Barney's recent photo shoot with a pro, he must of took a 100 pics just to use 1, he never used a flash but did spend around 2 hours over 2 days to get what he wanted. Poor Barney had to pose on the windowsill, in the cherry tree, on the bird table, on the dining table, in my arms, on my shoulders and on the sofa. And we did this about 10 times over. He the photographer spent the best part of this time rolling around on the floor and in amongst the cat food. The funniest part was him telling Barney how to pose as if he was some kind of catwalk model. I do think that to take a really good photo you need to be at the same level as the cat, have natural daylight and a reasonable speed shutter. I'd like to have one of Spangles flying in the air catching moths :sick: But it's all over in a second...

Natural light is great - unfortunately I dont have any in my house :tired:

There was an article in Your Cat this month about this, but I can't remember what it said.

Get down to kitty level - ok you have to crawl round the floor but it can be fun - except when your are in ther garden ;D . Or put Puds high up :Luv:
