Mum and babies are all doing really well.........there are 5 babies, not 4 as I first thought, she must have been hiding one.....lol.
She is a beautiful cat, very laid back although she does growl abit when you first go near........I think she's just telling me, they are here babies and leave well alone :Luv: :Luv:

Mum and babies are all fine :Luv: I will try and get some piccies later of them and hopefully find out if they are boy's or girl's :Luv:

Just a quick update on Katie, mum and babies are all fine and Katie now has a new addition to add to her brood :Luv: I had the local rescue on the phone earlier and someone had taken in a kitten that's about a week old :'( Possibly a feral as this little one was found in her garden........I'm not sure if she'll find anymore but the sad thing is, if left the mum might possibly have come back for this little one :( Anyway, Katie has accepted him into her brood, she's washed him and he's suckling at the moment so I can't see any problems.

OMG Dawn I'm going to cry that is SOOOO sweet
the biggest hugs ever to Katie on taking in this little one. xxxxxxxxxxx

quite a lot of cats seem to be very happy to take on foster children it would appear as ive heard of a fair few breeders queens sharing kittens or stepping in after there has been problems.
-
As we try to educate people coming onto this forum I feel it should be pointed out that introducing a foster kitten to a litter like this can have tragic consequences all round, none of us know what potential disease could be incubating within the new arrival. I personally never go for this option, I choose to bottle feed orphans in order to ensure strict isolation and minimum risk of disease.
Wishing Katie and all babies a happy healthy future

The kitten had been checked by the vet and is healthy. Although not always ideal to have a mum cat foster it, if left at the local rescue, the kitten would have died and I really haven't got the time at the moment to hand rear as I'm up to my eyes in trapping. And I do believe the kitten has a better chance of survival with a mothers milk rather than formula, plus if handreared, this little one would have been on his own which again isn't very nice for a kitten so young so I'm happy with my decision and so is Katie and her new offspring.
