My Neo is really not well he started not eating as much as normal 2 weeks ago but was only slightly noticable so didnt think much of it thought he had just eaten something a bit funny maybe? or just a little under weather? At weekend was cuddling him and realised that actually he really isnt him self and he feels lighter so we took him to vet yesterday morning expecting het to say he has an infection or something maybe? vet said she could feel a lump in his abdomen and did a bloodtest said blood test showed high white blood cells and very anaemic. We had to take him back today for a scan which showed a section of his liver with a growth and abnomal tissue liver is bumpy rather than smooth? we have got him an operation as soon as we can to see if we can remove the lump in the morning. I can not believe this could happen to our Neo he is only 16mths old. He went vets a month ago with Lucy for check uo and boosters and was fine vet didnt say anything. I will praying all night and tom that he will be ok as we love him very much and poor lucy seems a little down she keeps staying away from him? I have cried so much and this is such a shock as only went vets yesterday. :(
-
Aw poor Neo - at least you got him to the vet quck and the vet found out what was wong - I'll pray the op goes ok tomorrow and a big hug to you too.
The waiting can be such a nightmare - let's pray for a happy a healthy little Neo.

-
poor Neo, hope it goes well for him
-
I am sure Lucy will be missing him today, but luckily she won't have our concerns about the operation. Bless her, give her some extra fuss and attention, which I know you will do.
I wonder if Pauline has heard if the other kitten has had any problems. He was a kitten from another charity who we brought in to pair up with Lucy as we had an "odd" kitten and you wanted the two as company for each other.
We will all be thinking of you today.
-
I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed that all goes well with the operation today, and that Neo will be fine afterwards
-
Poor Neo :( sending tons of good wishes his way, and lots of hugs  hope all goes really well xx

Good luck for Neo today
Hopefully it is something benign. The liver regenerates so there is no reason he shouldn't be back to 100% health in a short time

Sorry all wasnt on yesterday picked Neo up at 5pm yesterday once vet was happy to let him home. He went through operation strongly vet said as he is young probably. He has had a biopsy taken from his liver as when they opened him up they found his liver has white patches/spots over it and they not sure what this is and the big lump they seen on the scan that they thought was a tumour is actually a gland in his stomach it has got so big the vet has taken a biopsy of this also both have been sent as urgent she said we should get an answer tues/ wed at the latest. Vet said she hopes it is just a very severe infection that they can treat or worse case would be that it is cancer. Im praying and hoping it will be something treatable he is already started on anti biotics and has come home with painkillers for everyday so at least hes not in pain. They think hes severly anaemic because his liver is not working properly and hes not eating much. He has a post op check up 2moz morning so fingers crossed. When i find out next week will be sure to let you know. he has been milking all the love and attention and is loving all these extra bit of treats hes having whenever i can get him to eat i am. Lucy has been a bit mean to him this morning she keep trying to chase him round but think thats because she doesnt understand why he isnt playing anymore? Please prey for our Neo i cant wait to find out what we can do for him.....
-
Glad he's comfortable and fingers crossed that its just an infection and the ABs do the job.
-
Thanks for the update and do keep us posted. Hoping for good news and that the antibiotics get in there and sort little Neo's problems out
-
Glad to hear that he's ok and hoping for good news from the results, give him a hug from me please
I bet that Lucy is also a bit mean because of the vet smell.
-
Lucy is upside down in my lap at the moment acting like a baby  poor neo is in his bed looking at her as if shes mad :Luv2: think she can sense we have been a bit sad she is making me better. ;D were getting married in 10 weeks who says we need any children when my 2 cats are treated like my babies anyway  When i came home yesterday was thinking about what the vet said to me and dave she said she bets they are spoilt! whatever gave her that idea ;D they have there own toy tub cat tree 4 beds and dave has even bulit them a hut in the carden with beds etc in and its warm for them incase sometimes when they are out for a bit they want to get in shelter. :Luv: We love Lucy and Neo so much :Luv2:
-
Fingers crossed that it is just an infection.
-
I hope that the tests come back with good results and that Neo can be treated, you obviously love him so much
-
fingers crossed too that the abs will clear up whatever is going on
I would suggest, however, that until you have a definite diagnosis, you keep Neo and Lucy separate, and in particular do not let them share a litter tray
-
Wont let them both use same litter tray :thanks: Neo not really going to the toilet he not really eating that much at moment though. Hes under the bed at the moment getting away from everyone i think inparticular Lucy
-
I'll be keeping fingers and toes crossed that the results show an easily treatable condition, please give Neo a little head tickle from me and Poot xx
-
Hi all just to give you an update Neo had his post op check up today vet said he is getting no worse or better at moment hopefully we will have results tues/weds. He is not eating so we are having to syringe feed him at moment which is horrible forn him because we are having to force him because he is not hungry  we have got to do it though or he will just waste away he has alreadt lost a quarter of his body weight and now weighs just under 3kg :'( Just hope the vet can come up with something next week for my poor kitty :scared: will keep you all posted
-
Poor Neo and you, I do hope that something can be sortwed out for him
Trouble is after an op or anesthetic some cats dont seem to react very well and know both my birmans wouldnt eat and with Franta it went on so long that the vet was worried about his liver and then all of a sudden he started eating again although I went thro loads of different foods until we got it as right as possible.
-
Do hope that you can help Neo get well again poor boy, sending tons of get well wishes his way
-
Fingers crossed and lots of
Mary

 glad he got through the op ok, milly had a liver biopsy so i feel for you, quite a big op for them
Has your vet said anything about having him in for a a couple for days for a feeding tube? It would help boost him up abit if dropping weight that quickly. I tried with milly but she didnt agree with the nasal route so had a peg tube fitted at the time of her biopsy.
Which diet are you syringing him with?
Really hoping its just hepatitis, being a young cat luck is on his side

Just to let all know you can see my post in Rainbow bridge as Neo has left us today unfortunately was pts as he was eventually in a really sorry state and in the end had suspected fip vet said all signs were there and he had fluid building in his stomach in last 24 hrs thay say they think he had the dry form and this is why he has been so ill we gave him steroids and 2 diff courses antibiotics but in end today he was just so ill in emergency 24 hr care we decided it would be kindest for him as he just wasnt strong enough to put him through anything else and im sure he must have been in pain. Will love him and miss him always RIP my little boy x
