Title: Commemorative stamps for Battersea cat & dogs home
Post by: Mark on March 29, 2010, 08:03:33 AM
The Royal Mail have issued a set of stamps with cats and dogs on to celebrate their 150th anniversary.

I  :Luv2: Number 8 (Tigger)

They should have done 4 dogs and 4 cats rather than 5 dogs & 3 cats!  :evillaugh:

It has reminded me of something that happened about 10 years ago. Used to have a flat by a canal in London. One summer night, I had the window open and heard splashing. I looked out and saw a dog swimming around in the canal. The sides were too high for him/her to get back onto the bank. I called the dog and it swam to the edge. By lying down, I managed to pull it up - quite surprising really as it was quite a big dog. He started licking me and followed me back up to my flat. I didn't know what to do as it was about 10 or 11pm. I looked in the fridge and the only meat I had was some raw bacon which I (rightly or wrongly) fed it - it was ravenous. This is where it gets a bit hazy as I really can't remember if the dog stayed for the night  - I remember making some calls and it transpired the dog had been rehomed and had escaped - so someone came to collect it  :Luv2:
