Title: Getting Catnip out of toys?
Post by: Sabrina (Auferstehen) on March 24, 2010, 12:29:15 PM
Anyone know how to get catnip out of a toy? I got this fabric thing with feathers for Gizmo and Penguin found it and sprayed the wall next to the toy.

I thought maybe putting it in the washer a few times?

That a shame, the only thing I can think to do would be to cut it to remove the Catnip then sew it back up but I would think it might be a bit faffy and might be easier just to just replace the toy if you can.

Hmmm I'm not sure tbh but Findlay says if you send it to him he'll suck all the catnip out of it and then send it back to you. He is currently wearing a white top with a big green patch on it due to him furiously sucking on one of his catnip toys (he has a Kong Wubba and a Petstages 3 ring toss  :evillaugh:)

Water seems to make it stronger.  When my flat got flooded, some of Jaffa's catnip toys got soaked.  When they dried out, they seemed to be stronger than ever.  They certainly went down well.

Hmm.

Maybe I'll send it to my inlaws in exchange for the one they have, as Penguin didn't mind that one (or if he did we didn't notice!).

I just wish he wouldn't spray with catnip or bread around.

:evillaugh: I take it the kittens don't mind sharing their toys then!

He's got his own! The physio and occupational therapists faces when I told them they were cat toys was fantastic (they were asking where I got them as they thought they were excellent) :evillaugh: When I was looking for sensory toys the other week I found some toys on a site which are actually cat toys however to buy one of them from one of the special needs website was £8 but to buy it from a petshop was about £1.30  Hmmm lets think which I went for!
