We got a call from one of our regular vets yesterday... it's a long story but basically the R*PCA had told them we'd agreed to take in this 'kitten'. News to us! :tired:
Anyway, as we were told it was a kitten, I offered to take him in as he's already been shut in a pen pen for two weeks. I can do kittens! :evillaugh: Adult cats never get on well here due to having to be shut in our bathroom. They always want more freedom than I can give them and it makes me feel so mean nasty having to shut the door on them. :( Kittens on the other hand have never known anything different and adapt well to Hotel Pinkbear's bathroom/kitten nursery. :naughty:
When I got to the vet I was expecting a small, scared youngster... I got presented with Tarzan. :tired: He's at least 18 months old, maybe even 2 years. He's not objecting too much to being shut in yet but my Tilly is camped outside the bathroom door howling and hissing through the gap underneath as she know's there another adult cat in there. :shify:

On My, but how gorgeous is Tarzan! She might be yowling because she fancies him :Luv2:

 I know I do - he's :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

He's settling in well and certainly a cuddle fiend. Loves his biccies! :Luv2: Hope he gets a home soon as he won't be happy being trapped in my bathroom for long. :tired:
Any takers?? :wow: ;)
-
Awww, bless him - has Tilly decamped yet :naughty:
-
mmm never fails Julie - but he looks gorgeous - sure he won't be with you for long!
-
What a handsome 'kitten', :crossed: he finds his forever home soon :)
-
He is lovely, fingers crossed for him. I was told Sam was an 8mo female when I picked him up - he turned out to be an 11/12yo male.

He slept in the famous blue whicker chair overnight, which is next to the hand basin. OH went in to use the loo at about 4am and forgot he was there. OH said he was sittin on the throne reading a bit of a book and suddenly Tarzan jumped on his leg demanding cuddles. Sharon is back from her little holiday tonight so I'm hoping she has someone on her books waiting for a tabby. :sneaky:
We've often had non-pussy cat people mistake a very elderly cat for a kitten but you'd think a vet could tell a six month old from a two year old. This is an experienced vet in his fifties by the way and not a kid just out of college. :innocent:
-
I didn't realise a vet had seen him and not said anything.

RB? :shify:
He started practising in 1973 so yes in his 50's - 59? :evillaugh:
-
Yes, that's him, Mark. :innocent:
Tarzan was handed in to the vet by someone who said he belonged to their neighbour but the neighbour had vanished. The vet then called the RSPCA as Tarzan appeared abandoned but wasn't sure what to do about it. It took the RSPCA three days to return the call. :tired: First of all they said they intended tracing Tarzan's owner and they might be prosecuted for animal abandonment and to stand by for instructions. They issued a case number so agreed to take on this puss... two weeks passed and nothing happened. The vet got hold of the Inspector again and he said we (Canterbury CP) had agreed to take Tarzan for rehoming. So the vet then called us expecting us to know all about it. He thought we must have done some kind of deal with the RSPCA. No so! Either the RSPCA confused us with another rescue organisation (unlikely) or they are plain telling lies now and dumping their welfare cases on us. The vet is furious with the RSPCA over this.
So the vet has been caring for Tarzan for two weeks but still thought he was only six months old.

He is part of the Animal Welfare Bill advisory board (he told me when I used to use him) so hopefully he will bring the matter up at the next meeting.

Perhaps he is a 6 month old kitten Julie ... in which case just imagine how BIG he'll be when he grows up!  Perhaps you've got a TIGER in your bathroom
He is gorgeous though and I'm sure he won't be waiting long for a forever home :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Tarzan looks just like my boy Boots :Luv:
-
Prosecute for animal abandonement.....how stupid is that when they cant prosecute for animal abuse and cruelty and murder!
-
Tarzan doesn't quite beat Hershe who was brought to us as a stray "kitten" from a skip company in the area. As soon as I saw her I knew she was about ten years old  . At least it wasn't a Vet telling me she was a kitten though.
