I can't say I agree with the comments about Canada being one of the most advanced countries regarding animal welfare. Given how many seal pups are brutally murdered every year added to the fact that Canada will not ban imports of cat & dog fur as they are frightened that it will affect their seal fur trade, in my mind makes way down the list of civilised countries and closer to some Far Eastern countries.

To be honest I didn't think about that statement too much - what I thought about was the endless amounts of money being spent keeping a dog in kennels that had someone perfectly willing to put the extra work in for training. It's utter madness.
