And if so are they safe around cats? I don't even know what it's called!
-
looks like a variety of peperomia to me
which I think are safe, but have not checked on internet
-
No idea about its effects on cats but you have a couple of dodgy leaves on the plant :shify:
-
That's not my plant Christine. ;) But it is the same type as far as I can tell. :)
Thanks Trigger.

Looks a bit like Anthurium? not sure, but if so, it is toxic to cats if ingested.

Don't think it's an anthirium ... they are more waxy and the leaves are dark green ;)

Really? Bit worrying; I bought it from the local CP shop and when I asked they said they thought it was safe to put it in reach of cats. (Maybe they'd not met a cat like Darwin.... :scared:)
-
are the leaves fleshy, JS? does it have any kind of flower or is it just leaves?
-
Fleshy? I suppose they are, yes. (If I understand that description correctly in terms of a plant. ;)) Nope, no flowers just leaves. :)
-
fleshy - thick with slightly rubbery feel - would incline me back to peperomia then, unless Anthurium has fleshy leaves too?
-
Yes, that's right - they do feel pretty rubbery.
-
What are plants? :tired:

What are plants? :tired:
They are those things that some other people manage to have in their houses, without Mr T their cats thinking they've had a little, tasty fresh salad provided for them ;)
Anyone want a potful of chewed, dessicated sticks ? :evillaugh:
