Leos chip is very nr his shoulder blade and its not that far under the skin. You can feel it.. But i have just noticed a small lump right nr it.. He is not a very podgy puss cat very slim and i can feel the chip still. The lump is small (pea size). not sure if its always been there.. I know that the chip des make a small wound and it could be fatty tissue..
Any thoughts.. He is fine.. in himself (just does not like going outside in the cold weather)..
Bellas chip is more under the skin and not noticable at all. Just Leos is very close to the surface..

I can feel my Tilly's chip too, Sharon. It's odd the first time you notice it... I worried it was coming out! :evillaugh:
Sounds like a little cyst to me. He's about the age for stuff like that, isn't he? I'd just monitor to make sure it doesn't grow too much and mention it during his next check up.

I would watch the lump and if it starts getting bigger see the vet about it.
cant feel any of my cats chips but probably they are just further in but if you are worrired give the vet a ring

Trigger has a softish lump on his lower back, which I first felt a fortnight ago, and which the vet saw today
she thinks it is just a cyst, as it is not bothering him at all, is not crusty or rough in any way, and most importantly can be lifted away from his body
she only wants to see it again if there is any change

Thanks all. I have to say this lump is not visable at all, you can just feel it nr the chip.. It may of been there ages.. He is not a fat puss at all and really has no extra body mass on his body.. Anyhow.. i wlll get someone to check it out if i am down the vets i can kick myself i didnt notice it the other day when he went down for his cystitis that has now all cleared up.. Oh well!!
