Post by: Leanne on February 06, 2010, 09:19:32 AM
Was on BBC news, a study at Bristol Uni said cat owners are more intelligent than dog owners  :P

We all knew that didn't we  :evillaugh:

I've had dogs in the past so do I count as half intelligent?

We're all as daft as brushes when it comes to cats or dogs so I say we are all the same really - SOFTIES  :Luv2: :Luv2:

Don't worry Julie ... People who own both are clearly the most intelligent and superior bunch

Don't worry... I'z not really taken the hump.  :evillaugh:

I just read that report again. They really don't know what to spend their money on next, do they.  :innocent: We could have TOLD them that.  :tired: Certain dog breeds are viewed as status symbols by the less 'economically mobile' (that's 'Chav' in a more polite term  :evillaugh: ) and almost obligatory possessions in these circles (who also tend to be less well educated and unlikely to be graduates) so therefore by default more cat owners will be graduates.  :innocent: Now... I could argue the assumption that intelligence equates to educational achievement is a mistake. Or I could say it's incorrect that all graduates are automatically intelligent, or the assumption of the lack of intelligence of non-graduates is fundamentally flawed as it fails to take into account educational opportunities, peer pressure and other life chances and the effects of social stereotypes within this group... but I really can't be ar**d.  :tired:

That'll be £10k please... make cheques payable to: "Statisticians Skiing Holiday Fund", P.O. Box Money to Burn...  :innocent:
