-
and i could not bear to See it PTS poor little Babe,
Sadly I know the feeling only too well ,we are the same if we know about a cat there is no way it will be PTS unless it is terminally ill and suffering of course.
-
I hate these types of phone calls......my vets always put me on a guilt trip if I say I can't take them :'( I had one the other week, she's only 3 years old, the owner took her in to be pts as she wasn't 100% with her litter tray :censored: :censored: I was in the vets anyway but in the waiting room so I didn't know what was happening until the vet nurse called me in........the owner was adamant she would not take the cat home with her, she'd made her mind up and that was it even though I tried to suggest other ways of helping her :censored: :censored:
If you want Ron, I can put a plea out for you but let me know asap.
-
I tried to suggest other ways of helping her
You did take her, didn't you?
-
OMG, I think I seen this cat on the adtrader, nobody must of wanted it. :( Not right to get it pts though obviously the cat has never been a family member. :(
-
Hi.....have just joined this site.
Whereabouts is this cat? I'm in Reading.
Lost my cat about 6 weeks ago after having him for 14 years.........would really like to re-home an older cat
-
Hi,
the poor thing
I wish I could help bu have 2 oldies of my own and anyone considering adopting oldies good on ya - it can have a few more downsides (but not necessarily) but it's so worthwhile.
Helen, like you we had our first 2 cats for 14 years, decided to adopt oldies thereafter and never looked back! infact we travelled down S from Yorkshire last year and adopted 22yr old Byron.
-
HI Helen
:welcome: to Purrs.
Sorry to hear you lost your babe. What was his/her name?
If ya ring Ron at his Rescue on 01273-422721, he will be able to tell you more about this little one. He is in Brighton.
xx
-
Thanks for the welcome Tan :thanks:
My little sweetie was called Jess,he was ginger and white. He had lived out in a barn before I got him and he settled into home life with no problems whatsoever,no accidents etc!
He grew up with my sons (now teenagers) and put up with all the little children/disabled children i used to care for. He was so good with all of them and passed away too soon :(
Unfortunately Brighton is too far away as i have no transport but I will keep looking for the right cat!
-
OOO Helen i adore Ginge & Whites (I have two ;)) Jess sounds adorable and always will be :(
Try our link page here http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/index.php?action=links;cat=11

Ron : if the cat can live with other cats and a dog then let me know please

:welcome: Helen

I tried to suggest other ways of helping her
You did take her, didn't you?
Yes I did and she's gorgeous. Her name is Jasmine, she's a beautiful black/white girl and spends all her time cuddled up on my sons bed......I couldn't leave her, the vet said she didn't want to put her to sleep but she'd have to if I didn't have her. I told the vet the woman was a hard faced cow........I was so annoyed about her attitude with her :censored: :censored:

I have just rung him and put a message on his answer phone so hopefully he will get back to you he is probably out doing a car boot somewhere :thanks:

Ron and Helen ( :welcome: Helen)
If it worked out that Helen and this little pud would be suitable for each other, I could do the transport between Reading and Brighton for you.

Fingers crossed for this little one and I hope yours finds a home soon Dawn.

Fingers crossed for this little one and I hope yours finds a home soon Dawn.
Thanks Des  I'm just going to do the homecheck for Midge and Morris so fingers crossed..........just had a cry but I'll blame that on Candice :-[ I've been fine all day but thinking about it too much really upsets me, I know they'll be fine but it will be hard on them for a few days.
-
Aww - but they can go to a fab new home, and be spoilt rotten, giving you more space to help the next needy one, and that is what it is all about, we can't keep them all, as we would quickly have no more space to help an urgent case. These have had your TLC and ready for that next stage now

I know all that Des but it doesn't make it any easier........I think it's going to be hardest on Morris as he's such a little baby and he loves his mummy, I just hate to think of them upset and worrying about what's happening but in saying that, it probably hurts me more than it hurts them :'( :'(
-
They might be a bit upset for a couple of days, but I doubt they will be worrying about what's happening. They might end up being more curious about it.

This is one of those where we've got two conversations going on at once, so I'll bump my post to offer help for Lost Cats Brighton's little three-legged cat under imminent threat of PTS...
-
Thanks all......this seems a lovely site :)
I have sent Ron a message asking for more info on this little cat.......shame I'm so far away tho.
Christine.......thank you so much but I couldn't possibly expect that, whereabouts are you?

Hi Helen
I'm going to be brutally frank here - I'd be doing this for the little three-legged cat, not for you, bless you :Luv: so it would be no trouble, especially as I was thinking of swinging by Lost Cats Brighton anyway in the not too distant...
Have a chat with Ron and let's take it from there.
I'm in Fulham so between the two of you.

Hi Helen and :welcome: to Purrs
Hopefully you will be able to adpot this special furbabe from Ron. This has to be one of the fastest adoption offers we've had on here. Fingers crossed it all works out :)
-
;D Fingers crossed
-
:thanks: for the warm welcomes everyone.
I have heard from Ron, he has no further details on this little cat. The owner should be calling him about him/her to-morrow. Would be nice to have a little more info on this cat!

Im sure I seen an ad for this cat so will try and look it up.
Would appreciate it if you could :thanks:
It was mentioned previously on here that the cat had possibly been advertised
-
Helen
I know you dont drive but Angie at the Coventry recue group has a wonderful cat Smokie whi I think is about 10years old and hates other cats but just adores humans, Smokie was being fostered by Ellie but could not continue cos it was causing may probs with her cats.
So if you are needing another cat cos this one is not available then Smokie needs a home desperately and is agorgeous oldie. I am sure that Angie would find a way of getting Smokie moved if needed.
I will try and find the thread for you and post again
Gill
-
Here is Smokies thread ;D
-
Where Gill, where lol.
Forever if this cat is near you are you going to take it on? I think you were looking into it?
-
Yes that was me who mentioned it Helen, had a look through the ads but cant find it.
Think the cat was being rehomed because owner was pregnant, or had allergies? Cant remember but something like that. The cat was an older cat aswell with 3 legs.
-
hells bells
Here it is

I have bumped up Ron's original post, ladies, because this is the cat we must concentrate on, on this thread. Ron is (I understand) hoping to hear from the cat's current, hmmm, owners tomorrow.
Sorry if I sound officious but I'm worried this little soul may get lost, one way or another...

Gill it was a joke about something someone said about Tan.
Tan can remove post's if she thinks you are just posting for this purpose.
I think you not reading posts or have forgotten what I said.
You know Im not like that. :innocent:
-
No Christine the cats still the main subject, we were just having a discusion as Gill posted a pic of a cat with 4 legs and I was a bit puzzled cos the cat was supposed to be 3 legged.
-
lol CC don't think Gilliee read that thread. We all know we only allowed one bump per month

CC Gillie meantion to Helen that Angie has a cat called Smokie that might be right for her if Ron's babe didn;t work out.

It is the 3 legged babe per Ron's orginal post for this thread. :Luv:
Hopefully we will hear more soon.
-
No sorry needed hun :Luv:
-
the guy with the three legged cat did not ring ron today .so it looks like a waiting game ron has rung him with no reply. >:(
-
I dashed back home after working this morning but no news.
Keep looking on here just in case!
As you say fuzziesdad it's a case of having to wait and see by the look of it.
-
What is it with people wasting your time, they hassle you like mad to take the cat and then cant be arsed to do the final bit >:(
I hope Ron gets him ok.
-
RON always gets his cat
-
I have just heard from Ron ( :thanks: Ron!)
Still no news on this little cat :(
Owners have not been back in touch so it's very much a wait and see game at the mo.
-
Fingers crossed they have had a change of heart and not found another vet who will carry out their original request. >:(
-
:'( :'( :'(oh god i hope not
fingers crossed the little one is safe n well
-
The cat is safe the husband is now toying with the idea of giving the little cat a Chance, every one has told them that the little cat wont clime on the Baby's cot, but will he will get in touch if there is any change, hope it all works out for the little cat. :thanks: to you all for trying to help Ron.
-
I hope it works out too.
I've never understood this cats and babies thing - just don't leave them together unsupervised, I'd say.

Yay what great news ... so pleased little cat will be allowed to stay at home.
-
I so hope it all works out for the little cat.
Obviously I'm a little disappointed but not deterred! Found another "oldie" who looks gorgeous......term ends this week so as I'm at home over the school holidays I may further this...... www.tvaw.org.uk/Adoption.htm
Don't you think Pebbles is lovely?
-
Pebbles is gorgeous
She is and I do so love oldies. I have one here at the moment, Predominately white who has, hopefully had cancer if the ears (hopefully treatment has sorted) cancer of the ears (what a surprise). She is a true golden oldie and the sweetest nature.

pebbles is beautiful and as ela said oldies are great my golden oldie is in the greenhouse at the moment but she is normally with me on the computer table watching the cursor can't really say she is sweet (only when she wants something) but she bought loads of baggage with her and is now in her eighteenth year and loving life having what you might say is a deserved retirement.
-
Pebbles is a very pretty cat and sounds like she has a lovely character :Luv: Have you been in touch with the rescue yet Helen?
-
Am glad that they are going to give the cat a chance, and hope Helen can find a lovely cat.
-

Yes I have......the downside though is she is with a fosterer over 20 miles from me :(
Glad you all think she's lovely though :)
-
That is a shame as their website do say they rehome cats in the Reading area, which is where you live.
I went nearly 30 miles to pick up my little kitty, but that was my choice after I fell in love with his pic on a catchat rehoming page :Luv:
