Title: Where to get this scratching post from
Post by: Den on November 24, 2009, 13:04:16 PM
I'm scratching my head trying to find one. The first one I got from PAH, it got worn out so I found a similar one in Sainsburys of all places  The base was too big so I screwed the pole from the Sainsburys ones onto the base of the PAH one. Well it is starting to get worn out so I need to find a place to get a replacement as neither PAH or Sainsburys are stocking them.

Now it has to be this type of post (not sisal). He has 4 scratching posts but this is his favourite and most used and it does get used a lot, hence why I need another one. None of the posts in PAH are any good and I can't have anything with a plastic rod sticking out at the top with a ball/mouse on the end.

HELP!

Base colour doesn't matter as I only need the post bit. Post bit needs to be a neutral colour not blue or black etc. The post part needs to be 40 cm / 15 and 3/4 inches tall.

This is his favourite type and the perfect size for him so it is important to get the same thing or similar.

:scared: Please and thank you

Have you tried the small pet stalls in markets - they always seem to have a good selection around Christmas?

Good luck.

Thanks Mary,

We don't exactly have markets around here (Just the German/French/Farmers markets). Not like most towns or cities anyway - the council is really strict. Pretty much all the pet shops have closed down. I can't get to the ones that we do have  :(

The ones with wavey plastic out the top can be altered, the plastic top is like a plug with space for the plastic wands to stick out, it will go back without the wands there  ;D

Too fat for us. Memphs is only diddy and requires something to match  :evillaugh: Plus he doesn't care for sisal, he likes to scratch on soft things, so the corded carpet (glad I now know what it is called  :evillaugh:) is perfect. He also likes to sleep wrapped around the post sometimes, which is why it can't be too fat or too thin  ;)
