Was just on the way round to my sisters when I saw something in the road, I put my hazards on and as I got closer I could see it was a cat :(
He looked in perfect condition but when I went to move him out of the road it was obvious he was dead, two other ladies stopped to see if I was OK and they said he definitely wasn't breathing but he was still really warm.
I covered him up and then went and got a scanner, he was chipped but there's a house near me that always has lots of cats on the drive so I knocked there on the offchance it was one of hers. Walked up with the lady and she thinks he's definitely hers, it was hard to tell as it's dark and he was all black but as we were walking back she was almost certain it was him. I gave her the chip no to match up with hers to be 100% certain and if it isn't hers she said she will take him to the vets to find out who he belonged too.
Feel really sad and just so grateful my boys are safe :(
RIP little Bob, safe and sound at the Bridge by now xx

I'm sorry, Helen. At least if the little one was in the road, dead but still warm, his end must have been mercifully quick.

:( I'm so sorry, Helen.
RIP Bob. :RIP:

 Sorry Helen - It makes us feel so helpless :( - poor kitty :'(
Do you have your own scanner or is it from work? :shify:

Awwww Helen
RIP Bob xxxxx

That's what I said to the lady Christine, it's a 60 mile an hour road so he wouldn't have stood a chance :( She said she'd kept him in the last few days because of the weather but that he was desparate to go out.

Such a hard thing Helen
RIP Bob

So sorry Helen, you did everything you could and more than most.

Poor puss cat :( You're good for stopping and doing as much as you did, so many people would just drive on and leave a cat in the road (I've picked up more than my fair share that people have left :().
-
Sending you a big  Helen
Thank you for caring enough to stop and ensure this babe had already gone to the Bridge xx
-
Proud of you Helen - it's so brave. When I had to pick my Smudge up he was stiff as a board and so light I couldn't believe it - it was the worse thing I've ever had to do in my life.
Mary

Its always hard to find a dead cat on the road and i will never understand how people can just drive round them >:(
Thank you for taking the time to ensure this little one was reunited with his owner
rip Bob safe from harm now :Luv:

:thanks: everyone, feeling a bit better about it today and so glad he didn't have to lie there alone and get taken away by the council. As we were walking up to where I put him the lady said that if it was her cat he would have had a belly full of roast chicken as she'd treated them to a special tea. He was an ex-stray so at least he had a kind loving home until the end.

Well Done Helen for doing what you did for Bob! Glad the owner's got to know about this via yourself! ;)
RIP Bob x

:scared: well done helen too many people would jsut drive on by...i did the same for a cat that lived near us...he was warm too and his eyes slightly open...i took him to vet and they said he was chipped...so i left it to them to sort out with the owner...at least they would know what had happened to him.
sorry you had to go through that....xxxx
