as my cats have taken to lying on my leather handbags in the wardrobe, I am thinking of getting a leather rug to use by the hearth
does anyone have one, and if so, do their cats respect it, or trash it?
-
Sounds sexy! :innocent: Ive never even heard of a leather rug! :-[ Get an old leather coat from a second hand shop and try them out on that first! ;)
-
no I've never heard of a leather rug either :-:

I think I've seen a plaited one but that is about it

That's a whip Dawn! :naughty:

we had a leather rug, sort of looks like a shagpile rug but is strips of leather, is that what you mean ?
If it is, it lasted about 2 weeks, the cats sucked on the leather and it went all hard and sort of stuck together and I am sure it would have been a bit smelly if they had carried on sucking it.

Now I have seen those and never knew they were leather lol!
-
I've not seen them, but it does look like those my gran used to make with material, can't remember what they called them
-
Clicky mat? Something like that! :evillaugh:
-
I think....it was called a peggy rug?
-
Im thinking of Clippy mats!
Never heard of a peggy rug! :evillaugh:

I think I'd better see if my handbags have been sucked :scared:
I thought I might cope with a bit of moderate clawing, but don't fancy sucking
but Trigger uses the wool rug currently there as an extra large scratching mat, and pulls strands out all the time
what is there that might be left alone?
-
Do they do steel or concrete rugs? :naughty: :evillaugh:
-
I fear you may be right
I had a shaggy rug once that was left alone, but don't remember what it was made of

If you hunt in charity shops you will find leather clothing you could make your own from ;)
-
You can get leather pouffes (those stuffed floor cushions) at shops that deal in morroccan goods. They are a nice alternative and would not provide 'sucking' options. But stuffed with something softer than the newspapers that used to be used, would be a nice furniture item as well as a comfy bed for you babes ...
-
I have a leather pouffe with a curious pin prick effect all over! :evillaugh: aka cat claws! :sneaky:
-
Yeah, but if you get one with a pokerwork design, you just polish it with some bootpolish and the pin-pricks add to the complexity of the design
