Could you please send some healing positive vibes for my oldie Eddie :scared:
Hes stopped eating and is acting odd, hes always been a fussy eater but the last couple of days hes refused everything ive offered.
Hes also started hiding away behind the sofa and wont come out except to use his tray and have a drink
I know its not his mouth or teeth as he only had a dental last month .
Someone said with old cats sometimes the effects of the anesthetic can be the start of the end for old cats , i know 3 yrs ago my old cat Bonnie (20 ) went for a dental and 3 weeks later she died as a result of the anesthetic effecting her body , dont think they did bloods tho they said they had.
So now im really scared that im loosing Eddie, going to try and get him into vets tomorrow :scared:
-
I would definitely take him to the vets, I wouldn't think the anaesthetic though and if they said they did bloods I would think they would have it would be bad practice and unethical to lie to you, let us know how you get on, sending good vibes his way
-
Hope the vets can see Eddie tomorrow, and sending him good luck vibes.
-
Poor Eddie. Hope he's feeling better soon.

Hope he'll be ok

Sending positive healing vibes out for darling Eddie, best of luck at the vets for him!

Well its not looking good for my little man, the vet thinks it could be crf, shes given him a steriod to help him eat and some sub cut fluid to hydrate him, shes also said hes lost 14lbs in 2 month which is not good so we need to get him eating again.
She said lots of other things but my head is buzzing at the moment so will post better later as i have to go to work now
-
How old is Eddie? I'm so sorry the news wasn't better, hope the steroids help.
-
Hopefully it will be just an off moment for Eddie
I think he's about 18 Jack
-
Hope that the steroids help him, they did wonders for our Schui
-
I think he's about 18 Jack
Bless him.

Lots of good wishes for him

Sending lots of positive vibes for the old guy. If it is CRF take heart, Truman is still going strong 8 months on. The Fortekor certainly helps and I have recently started adding some eel serum to his food which is supposed to help.

Sending lots of good wishes and get well vibes

Poor Eddie! I really hope you manage to get him sorted out and he's feeling a lot better soon.
-
Right my heads a bit clearer now
My vet said that he has lost just over a lb in weight not 14lbs as i stated earlier :
She thinks the kidney has reacted to the anesthetic in that altho he had bloods done before his dental which were fine after wards they can stay the same for a while then suddenly go sky high and she thinks this is whats happening to Eddie
His heart and lungs are fine but we need to get him eating to get some weight back on him,he had a steroid injection and she did a subcut to get some fluid into him.
Also hes had a scabby thing on his nose which she thinks is cancer, hes had this ever since he turned up at the rescue and its never shown any sign of going anywhere but over the last few days its got a little bit worse and with being on the nose they cant do anything for it :scared:
Tonight when i got home he was sat on the sofa instead of hiding as he has for the last few days and has had a little drink of cat milk and some turkey and about a teaspoon of cat meat, he now sitting on my knee and having a cuddle :Luv:
Ive only had this little man 11 months but hes one of those who steal your heart and become very special and i hate the thought that i could be loosing him so if anyone can come up with advice on this which i know several can i would appreciate it very much
And Eddie says thank you for the vibes
-
