My main man Ronnie is normally a greedy little chuffer. However over the last few days he has just not been interested. I got that worried last night I got some chicken out of the fridge and put it infront of him. He chewed it but kept dropping it on floor. He only ate it when i put it in tiny chunks no bigger than a 10 pence peice. This Is a cat who can eat a pouch in the time it takes Bazza to eat a mouthfull. He was purring while eating it but its just not him. Any ideas? I presume a visit to the vet is in order.

maybe toothache?

It may be something to do with his mouth or teeth if he is having trouble with large chunks, either way if he doesn't seem his normal self I would take him to the vet to be on the safe side and put your mind at rest

maybe toothache?
Apparently my other half said he ate a bit this morning so maybe it is. How long do you think I should leave it before going vets??? He is fat so could survive for weeks of his body fat lol, sorry I should not poke fun!
-
you can't really leave toothache - he'll need pain relief at the least

He is a nightmare cat, its like the time when he was a kitten and came home with a massive leg!! Scared us both to death!!

I'd be visiting the vet sooner rather than later if there could be a mouth problem
-
to the vet now :scared:

As he is struggling even with treat food definately take him asap, tooth ache is one of the worse aches!
Abit of info you may find interesting, although cats are physically wellcovered without food they are very quickly at risk of liver problems, overweight cats are at an even higher risk, hepatic lipidosis is its posh name but is more often referred to as fatty liver, the body sends fat to be processed but cats livers cant do that very well so the fat builds up

All is well, Fat man is eating again!!
-
Good news!
Did you visit the vet to find out why?
-
I booked him in at the vets but then he started eating again and now seems fine. I presume he was under the weather. I will keep an eye on him for the time being.

:) glad Ronnie seems ok now but good idea to keep an eye on him

Glad to hear all is well! I'd have Noah at the vets after the first missed meal I think, he loves his grub sooooo much. I am woken each morning for breakfast - repeatedly if necessary :tired: - and every meal or snack I eat he has to sniff. He looks really disappointed when it's something like lentil soup!

and waht a cute boy he is!xxx :Luv2:
