Fifi has been constantly crying the last couple of days, i thought it was attention seeking but she does it when you are holding her and stroking her she is even crying when she is half asleep, has anyone else's cat done this before?
I am taking her to hte vets tomorrow to get looked over though i can see nothing wrong, she is eating drinking toileting etc.
The only other thing is next door got a new dog 2 days ago and i am wondering if this has somehow upset her?
-
How old is she? If she is older its a sign of deafness and also dementia but the dog is most likely the cause I would guess!
-
She is only 4 months old
-
She sound's well in herself so it most likely will be the new dog....Have you heard the dog whimpering at all? ;)
-
She could be coming into heat.

It has been barking quite a bit, i am convinced its because of the dog but OH thinks there is something wrong.
-
Good that you are getting her vet checked to rule out anything health related but if this has only just started since the dog arrived then good chances are it's related to that.

She could be coming into heat.
She has been spayed already so would that still happen?

When was she spayed ?, if she is only 4 months old now that would have been really really early to operate ?

She was spayed very early 2 weeks before i got her, her and siblings were found living in a field they thought they were feral and planned to just spay and release them then the charity decided they were ok to rehome so here she is!

I have never heard of a female cat being spayed so early, if she has been with you three weeks and was spayed two weeks before you got her that would have made her about 3 months old when she was spayed so I am not sure if she would still show signs of going into heat as it is early, I would give the vet a call and ask them.

Yep, it tends to happen - some of the ferals I T&R were spayed quite early - as I understand some vets do some don't.
-
Arnt some peds spayed young? ;)
Hope she settle's soon, do you have any dog's yourself?
-
I think in the US they spay as early as 8 weeks
-
In NZ they often spay very early, I think at 12 weeks.
-
She could show signs of heat if the person who spayed her wasnt very good with fiddly jobs and missed something, its unusual but not impossible.
Hope her trip went ok

No we don't have any dogs, they actually scare me :-[

Thanks for the replies, we are back from vets and she said there is nothing wrong with her at all, the dog may well be making her cry more and she could just be finding her feet or attention seeking constantly, so i will just have to ignore it a bit!
My vet is one of the best in the area so i don't think she would have missed anything so definately don't think she is coming into heat, shes just being a teenager!
-
Dogs scare me too, you are not alone in the teenage thing, I have had JO Ripley hanging off my leg this evening, he is now terrorising Ruby Red Drawers and in a minute in will be trying to sit in the middle of our dinner plates, oh and look he is chewing the corner of my laptop as I type !

Thank you, i am 99% certain that is the cause, she was quite and playing nicely when i came home then had a nap, then the dog next door started going mad and she then started crying!
