I've just finished trimming Polly's claws! Now all the neighbours are ringing the RSPCA!
Despite the fact that I've had 20 years experience of claw-trimming, she was convinced I was murdering her and yowled at full volume. Most embarrassing, as I live in a Victorian terrace and all the neighbours could hear!
When I checked Sam's claws, Sam purred all the way through!
Polly is an ex-feral, trusting in every way but this. I think she was in a particularly bad mood this evening. Her claws had grown quite long as, unlike Sam, she doesn't wear them down on the scratching post (maybe I should buy them one each? Do cats use the same post?)
I feel slightly traumatised by this. Must have a cup of tea!
I'm sure everyone here understands how I feel.

Dont worry, they wouldnt bother on a sunday night :evillaugh:
Ours arent toooooo bad.. Cheese is a bit of a hissing terror, Gerti purrs and doesnt notice, and Doc is hard to clip cause he is paddling and you cant keep hold of the paw!

Mine use same posts and toys

Poor you, mine aren't too bad at having their claws clipped fortunatley - my two dont use scratch posts, they like the doormat and the bed, and that is it!!

I’ve never had a problem clipping Lirael’s claws until we brought in a new kitty, Smoke.
I clipped Smoke’s claws first and she hated it, wiggled and meowed the whole time. So Lirael thought it’d be fun to do the same…
Now I clip Lirael first so she doesn’t complain.

Mogs hates having her claws done but as she doesnt sit on me I check them now and then and only do them when its needed. She never used a scratch post either prefering the back of the settee which I wasnt happy about. I bought a scratch mat from PAH and she uses that (occasionally)

I have no joy. Lexy is a wriggling muffin and her dad has to hold her but he feels so guilty and worries he'll hurt her that now I have to hold her.....(read into this...scratches and gouges in arms!).

Letty sits tucked under my arm and goes MREEEEEEEEOWWWWWL in vaguely threatening yet squeaky tones the whole way through  Daffy bless her sat in her bed purring and washed my hand while I held her paw last time I did her. :Luv:
Ollie I wouldn't even try to hold for it - I just get the odd one in while he's snoozing in my lap. Resorts to violence quite readily, does Oll.

Toffee and Magnum will quite happily sit on while I clip their claws. I get my boyfriend to hold Harvey while I do his as he's a little young to sit still for 5 mins . Now when I do Max's claws (big black lab x collie) you'd think I was murdering him the way he goes on. I only take the tips off and you'd think I was beating him up by the way he cries and howls.

I would never pick a fight with Misa cos he is bigger than me ;D
The birmans do not verbally prostest but I only do claws if I think they are catching.........................ouch Franta, claw time ;D
And of course Sasa is just Sasa
