Title: Tallulah Hasn't Come Home!
Post by: Jennbear on November 21, 2006, 17:21:40 PM
:( Tallulah went out yesterday morning and hasn't come home. She's stayed out over night once or twice before but normally comes back in the morning. Am trying not to worry and she's probably somewhere warm but can't help thinking I need to do something.

Help!!?? Where do I start??

What's the weather like where you are? Mine won't come in if it's raining hard and they've found shelter until the rain eases or hunger forces them to. Too soon to panic, but I know from experience you will anyway. Fingers crossed for you & Tallulah.

Go out calling her and shaking her biscuit box. Start now call for about 10 minutes waiting each time and listening in case you can here her cry she may locked in a shed. ?Then go out 20 minutes later and start again. ?she'll be back.

BIG HUGS to you. xxx

Thanks Dave. Last night it was horrible and windy and raining. Today it's been cold but dry, looks like it'll be a clear night but really getting cold now. Thought she might have come home as she hasn't eaten (well not from here anyway) since yesterday morning. Thanks Gail am popping out round the block every 5 - 10 mins x

Check that they haven't been shut in a neighbours shed, garage, greenhouse or a nearby empty building. Speak to people who are ?out and about? in your local area ?- mail person, milk deliverer, and newspaper deliverer etc. Ring all your local rescues. ?Contact all vets in the area ? Produce 6 - 8 small adverts on an A4 sheet, print several and put them through doors in at least a 200-yard radius of your home 100?s if necessary. Place an advert in ?the local papers , someone advertised for 9 consecutive weeks then got the cat back, another person advertised for over a year at a vets and was eventually reunited with her much loved cat, so please don?t give up. Make some A4 posters to cover in plastic or laminate and tape to lamp posts bus stops etc. in your local area. Place card ads in your local shops (someone kept an advert in a shop for 6 months then got the cat back) ?Contact the local radio station and ask if the will put an appeal out and to get the horrible bit out of the way phone the local cleansing department. The sooner you start advertising the better the chance of getting your cat back. We would advise that if your cat has been missing a day or two and you then get it back that you keep it in for a while to resettle. Also please advise all those who took note of her disappearance of her return.

There are some organisations with lost and found registers I am sure someone will give you details. The sooner you start to advertise the better.

I would advise you get the little one chipped as soon as she returns.

Walk very slowly around your area when it's late and quiet. Call to her while you're walking, keep stopping, and if she's about she can get a fix on where you are. I think cats can get a bit disorientated when it's been windy.
Fingers crossed she comes home soon XX

Thanks all for your lovely comments. Tallulah, being her modest self, says thanks too! She's been in since and has tried the odd escape effort but I think she's coming round to the fact that she has to stay in and tolerate our little one till next week. She actually seems abit playful today and even came and licked my hand (normally she doesn't tolerate us much either!) The little one is also starting to try to make a run for it when the back door's opened but when she makes it out, if I haven't been quick enough, she just stands and doesn't know what to do next. She's 6 months and has been spayed so is allowed restricted garden time under human supervision....oh and the watchful eye of Tallulah....she loves us really! LOL!  :cold:
