Title: disaster - no Webbox in Tesco's
Post by: Kay and Penny on September 16, 2009, 23:19:11 PM
my local Tesco is no longer stocking Webbox

I haven't broken the bad news to Webbox addict Trigger, but I sense major troubel ahead :shify:

anyone know of another reliable source, other than Asda and Sainsbury's, which have no branch within 50 miles of here

I have never seen this in Tesco and I go to the Fforest Fach one....mind you they have deterioated massively over the summer, very cheap and nasty now.

Once a month roughly I have been driving to a big Sainsburys at grrrrrrrr the place after Port Talbot on M4, name has gone sigh.

When Franta is better will be off there again and if you can ring them and find out if they sell this, I will get you what you want and send on.....presumablu they are not heavy?

Havng been recommended Webbox I bought Robbie some today....he looked at me like I was trying to poison him and refused to eat them!  Will be going back to the Dreamies I think.  Fortunately Ginger stray quite liked the Robbie Reject so they won't be wasted.

Snap....same problem at ours two weeks in a row. (Asteroid is a webbox addict too - you can practically make her do tricks for a bit!)

I'm seriously not liking them, they're prices keep fluctuating wildly and they have stock in some times and not others.

Oh right, have never seen them before!

I did notice yesterday in Tescos that they are doing something similar but by Whiskas, I dont know if they would be the same taste but are the sticks!

They were nearly £2 (I think?) for 3 sticks, which I thought was expensive for what your getting, or should I say how little  :shy:

I see that Tesco on-line has a price of 39p against them

now either they reduced them and all the stocks were snapped up at that price (and I would have been first in the queue snapping had I known about the reduction), and they will restock -  or they reduced them simply to clear stock and do not intend to replenish

but the message is 'currently unavailable' so we can but hope

They seem to be doing a lot of this!  :shify:

have just gone back to Tesco on-line to complete my order, and lo and behold - a new range of Tesco treats have appeared, in the same flavours and same format as Webbox

so that explains that

I went into my local Tesco the other day and they had price cuts on loads of cat food and treats,  all the shelves were empty,  examples of the prices I saw were  24 Pouches of Whiskas think is was Market Fish or something similar were down to £1.50 !,   I asked if they were getting any more stock and they said no,  they also said when they put prices cuts on it means they are clearing the line,  they also had price cuts on Felix Cans down to 19p each,  Whiskas Supermeat down to 19p,  Highlife kitten pouches down to £2 for box of 12 none in stock though,    the Webbox were selling at something like 29p and the cheese dreamies were 79p.   When I want in today they have totally changed everything about and they have new 'value' lines and no webbox and no cheese dreamies !  nightmare,  I also hate the fact my local tesco doesnt sell Biocatolet cat litter anymore,  drives me mad.

No bargains in Whitstable Tesco today. I guess they have discontinued a lot of stuff. They had Tesco own brand version of Webbox - a pack of 10 for 99p and also Whiskas have bought their own version out. I don't think it will be around for long at 3 sticks for 99p

I'm thinking of changing supermarkets, it's not just cat food it seems lots of others of my favourite foods are being discontinued.  I rang them last year about a few things to see whether they would sell them again but they said every now and again they just try different stuff unfortunately.  I'd like to do Waitrose but we don't have one nearby but can order from Ocado.

Certainly was,  it is all change there on the cat food front,  all the dry food is up the other end near where the litter was,  they are selling some funny brand of dry cat food now (called Claude) it is one of those discounted brands you know like the Daisy washing up liquid etc.

I was in Tesco at lunchtime and there was a couple in the pet food aisle bemoaning the lack of webbox treats!  Wasn't any of you lot in Altrincham Tesco was it?!  ;D

Jaffa has yet to turn up his nose at a treat.  He eats them all.

Yes most of mine will eat any treat,  even the horrible ones that come in the christmas stockings    but the twins (Picalli and Ruby) and JO Ripley are a bit more choosy and only really like Webbox or Dreamies.

I suspect the Tesco's Webbox lookalikes are going to be Webbox tastealikes too

they are probably made by the same manufacturer to identical recipes

I thought that but the pack says "made in Austria" - I assume Webbox are made in the UK?
I just hope the Tesco ones aren't the same as Lidl ones as mine won't touch them.

Trigger loves the Tesco Salmon and Trout ones, even more than the Webbox ones

haven't tried the other flavours yet, but am very hopeful ;D

I got some webbox salmon and trout from wilkinsons today and tried them with Oscar and Magnum. To say they went down a treat was the understatement  :evillaugh:
