Any suggestions please?
I decided on silver shaded torti but im not 100% on it :um: its hard to capture all her colour features
-
Shes pretty, fluffy and cuddly coloured :Luv2:
Will that do :evillaugh:
love
Tab
-
Dilute tortie?
Very pretty anyways :Luv2:
-
She may be a dilute tortie as cc says but I cant see the pinkish ginger that she should have, If its there but just not in the picture she is definately a dilute. ;D
I love dilute torties and she is very pretty ;D
-
Wow I knew my genius would be recognised
Gill you can see little patches of ginger on her face-under the right eye, her left arm and slightly on her tummy, she's an absolute doll :Luv2:
-
Wasnt sure if that was just the sun :innocent:
-
I don't care what she is, she's just gorgeous :Luv: Now if you can have her ready for me to pick up later this week that would be fabulous ;)
-
I would have said more silver shaded tabby than tortie? Her coat looks very like silver shaded chinchilla coats.
-
She is so beautiful :Luv2:
Mary
-
I have no idea on proper colour names but she is gorgeous!
-
:Luv2:
I cant believe Helen has missed out on an ogle here! :innocent:
-
ooh, silver, pinky brown and cream, she is beautiful anyway :Luv2:
-
Looks to me from the pic that she is a black silver tortie ticked tabby and white (or a silver tortie tabby and white for short!)
-
She looks like a long-haired abyssinian to me (they have a breed name, but can't remember it right now).
-
Somali's (like the rather lovely Mosi)
-
Def looks like a Somali to me, maybe a lilac cream tortie ??
-
she is lovely, shame I've got three lady prima donnas already!!
-
That's the word - bet she is a real character. Pop her in a box and send her to me!! :wow: ;)
-
Thanks for suggestions ;D where do people see tabby?
-
MM I cant see any tabby anywhere, but arnt all cats meant to have a bit of tabby in them anyways :-:
Is she a ped or a mog? Could mean a whole load of differnce if your trying to find out which shade she is :)
I must say again she is simply stunning, is she staying with you MM?
-
There are two types of tabby. One is the common one with stripes or spots, the other is also referred to as agouti. It means that each hair has three colour bands on it. It is also referred to as ticked tabby. This is the colour on a wild rabbit or an abyssinian cat (which is a tabby). So the whole of her coat, except the cream areas seems to be tabby.
-
Yes you are right cc, every single cat has a tabby gene in it and its the only thing that every cat has in common, except the obvious like eyes. ears etc lol.
Even on solid coloured cats sometimes you can see a faint M mark just above the nose when the light shines in a certain way and can see it on Ducha who of course is a birman.
-
Actually BC, there are 4 different tabby markings, classic, mackeral, spotted and ticked. I suppose she does look a bit like a ticked tabby
-
Thanks Desley - wasn't giving a dissertation, just trying to explain that a tabby doesn't need to have stripes or spots to be a tabby.
-
LOL Gill :evillaugh:
I think my Harry may be ticked, just silver on the ends of his coat....what do you think?
ps sorry for hijack and will remove once someone confirms :innocent:
-
Have you got a pic of him from the side CC?
-
I think my Algie was considered ticked, he was beautiful - I can't post a photo though because I am rubbish!

You can always send me the pic Dawn! ;)
-
thanks Ruth!
-
Just looking..............
His coat looks different in both  I think he may be a Mackrel ticked?
-
I think my Gigga may be ticked? :shify:

-
ooh I don't know about Algie now, he was more overall coloured - anyway I'm sure someone will know??
-
Harryand Gigga are mackeral tabbies, you can see stripes on them. In a ticked tabby you can't see any stripes, spots or classic tabby patterns.
-
Thanks Lottie, I always knew there was something "fishy" about him :evillaugh:
-
Anyway we now know what they are here are Dawn's pics to join our gang! ;)

thanks Ruth, its lovely to see him again, I miss him, if I found another one who looked like him there would be no stopping me
-
The white and tabbie is defiantly ticked, is the other tabby a Bengal? He looks like he has marbled fur :)
-

Aw!  He is lovely! :Luv2:
-
his brother Oscar is a normal tabby, it little tot in the other pic is the bengal when she was a baby!
-
This is Pinball's grandma who is a silver tortie ticked tabby and white, you can especially see on her legs how she doesn't have any stripes or spots on her legs but the hair is evenly ticked all the way down the hair shaft like a wild rabbit
(http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll100/Pinball-Wizard-08/Pinballs%20Family/Summer.jpg)
On a shorthaired cat the ticking shows up more clearly and they look like this. Again you can see no stripes, no spots etc
-
:drool; :drool; :drool;

if I knew where to find that second one.......

I have no idea if she is meant to be a certain breed or a cross as she was a stray, so shes a posh mog to me!
No shes not for keeps, shes a rescue looking for her forever home. Even if i wanted to it would be clash of the titans when torti meets torti :evillaugh: Lola not likey
-
