Oh what great fun we had yesterday..... got a call from a lady who was terrified of cats to say that a cat was having kittens at the bottom of her garden...so off I rush to check on mum and babies and see what is going on.
First words out my mouth.... oh gawd it had to be a dark tortie!!! :tired: :evillaugh:
Well when we got there mum had herself wedged in the most inaccessible bit of the garden behind a well with not 1 but 2 little babies of around 10 -12 days old. No other thing for it but get the babies (not an easy task and I have the scars to prove it!) and use them to lure mum as mum was having none of it and was very much teeth and claws.... and there was no way we were getting in to get her.
Set the trap with the lure....and the bleedin baby wouldn't cry to call mum!!! couldn't believe it. Both of them (put seperately) as soon as we put them out they just curled up and went to sleep!! :tired: Mum knew baby was there and just sat at the entrance to the trap poking her head in every now and again! :tired:
by 10pm we gave up the idea as she moved into next doors garden and got the little ones back as they were none to bothered about their little adventure and just slept their way through the entire events all cosy and warm! :tired: Just got home had quick bite to eat.... phone went..... mum had gone in the trap!!! lol now why couldn't she have done that 4 hrs ago! So poor Paul went back out again to collect mum at the back of 11.
She's a fiesty girl is mum but I think underneath her nerves she is a sweetie waiting to come out... or at least I hope so!! :scared:

I think you will find that all Brindle Torties have attitude - both Xian and Beijing do!
Hope that you are healing well and have a happily reunited family - we need piccies of Mum and babes and of your battle scars ;)

Oh dear - they don't make it easy do they
-
oh gawd they are little menaces so they are. :tired: >:( Right flamin job we had and still had a fight on our hands getting her transferred into a pen when we got back, she was so darn quick she managed to leap out over you before you could slam the door shut but thankfully on try 3 we got her in successfully and after a couple of hours being stressy and hiding behind the litter tray eventually settled down with her babies and cuddled them in.
Today mum and babies seem much more settled and they are all huddled together and sleeping peacefully. Hopefully over the next few days mum will quieten down and we won't have any repeat performances!
Will get some piccies of them later on, leaving mum to get some rest just now after her ordeal last night. Babies are very cute, 1 Ginger ( :Luv2: ) and one black girl.... so so cute! We have decided to call them Sam & Dolly.... thus far mum remains as mum!

So glad you managed to collect mum and babies, hopefully they will settle down and become purr pots very quickly so no more battle scars
