On Wednesday afternoon my OH was working at home as he has a cold and noticed, between sneezes, that Blip suddenly started sneezing too. By the time I arrived home, she was a bit subdued - they both were.
Blip remained somewhat quiet yesterday and I had resolved to take her to the vet this morning but during the course of yesterday evening she suddenly perked up and today is completely back to normal, alert, eating well, active, chatty and affectionate.
Except she is still sneezing occasionally. I imagine cats can get colds too but would appreciate any insights.
:Luv:
PS can the same virus affect both humans and cats, does anyone know?

I am sure I read somwhere that cats can catch a cold from humans.......but may be wrong.
Cuddles to Blip and hope the sneezes have stopped now ;D

No, the human cold/flu virus can't infect cats, and we can't get cat flu! Hope Blip's ok ;D

Cuddles to Blip (and Jaffa sends licks and gentle head butts :Luv: ). I hope she's back to normal now. Perhaps she was just empathising with OH ;D

As others have already said human cold does not affect cats.
Glad to hear that she is back to normal, give her extra cuddles from me today.

Ollie was sneezing the other day too!
It must be a 'bug' going round - it can't be only humans that get snotty bugs, after all, even if they're species-specific.
Glad Blip is feeling all better now :Luv:

Hi Chrstine
glad to hear Blips better head kisses from my gang
We certaiinly can pass on cold etc to our fur babes. 2 years ago I had a flu jab and was really ill 3 days later with the worst flu i had ever had. 4 of my cats in a row were ill and boy did I feel awful as one o them was Milo and he was 23 at the time. They all had the same symptoms so I had a house call save taking them out in the cold and the vet said I had passed it on to them all but they would be ok as long as they continued to drink.....food wasnt important
it took about 5 days for Milo to start to get better and about 10 days in total to recover, the others took about 5 days total
I no longer let then vsit when I have the flu they have to put up wih Daddy who always gets feeds and stuff wrong rrrr
xxxxx
