:omg:the asda tiger cat litter i use which is a 10 litre bag
theyve now changed it to a new improved anti bacterial cat litter but therees only 8 litres in the bag and its still the same price 8 lirtes isnt enough for me at all
it was bad enough with the ten litres :boxer:
-
I have to admit that until joining CC, I always used to buy 30l bags of litter, despite only having 2 cats. Now, I am going to go back to 10l, as Tiger has a tray downstairs and Molly has a tray upstairs, so makes more sense to have smaller bags. Not tried Asda Tiger, but Tesco, Wilkinsons and Netto's 'cheap' brands are fine.
-
i cant have the very cheap ones coz they go all like mud or clay and i hate it
i only have the white colour cat litter lol
i know im strange but i cant help it lol
-
The tesco, wilkinsons and Netto arent the very cheap ones, although I only opened the bag of Netto stuff yesterday, so a bit too early to tell. So far, the 'clumping' litter hasn't clumped wiht Molly's wee!! I dont like the coloured ones, I have the pink sophisticat in as it was all the pet shop had, but it turns their white paws pink and I dont like it!!
-
I cant stand the smell of that pink sophisticat litter, eugh!
-
my fav is catsan
but i couldnt afford to buy it everyday
im ok with the tiger one from asdas
just wish they would go bk to selling the 10lirtes not 8 :shify:
-

Must be like the Danish Pink then, but those cats who don'[t get on with the wood always will use the Danish Pink so it is a case of needs must sometimes. Most of the other litters apart from the Corn (WBL) I can smell the tray contents and I can't be doing with that.
-
sorry but while we r on the subject of cat litter
is it normal for a cat to ppooh 3times aday or does it mean they r eating too much
i spend my life picking up pooh
-
mango only has a 1 poo every morning :-:
i used to use tigger from asda
like sophisticat
like catsan
but mango has astma and can only have the wood pellets and the bio litter which costs a fortune , it doent absorbe the wee stright away whick is a prob with her long hair and i hate the smell of the pine
does anyone know a litter that is like granuals but no dust
i have thought about sieving tigger outside 1st but havnt really got the time to do that every day and it is messy job and it still has dust

Could she use the chick crumbs that we discussed on another thread? I use them and don't find them too dusty. They are fine granules and clump nicely.
-
i read some of that thread gillian and think they might not suit as i tried fine litter like the really fine catsan ( brown ) but she had attacks th that one too
i can pt up wi the awful pine smell for her health but have found wi the wood pellets shes been a little damp and smalled of wee , and we have never had that before and i like her to be perfectly clean and groomed , not only for her sake but the 2 qnd 4 yr old girls like to cuddle her constantly ;)
-
forever you should price out worlds best cat litter, its fab fab fab.
-

Dinah arived with City Cat Pearl Fresh litter, which has a fairly hard texture and doesn't seem to be very dusty.
It's odd stuff - says it lasts up to a month, you just remove the solids every day. It doesn't smell at all after one week but it's very strange not having to scoop out any wee clumps.
-
where do i get it from lynn?
-
You can get Worlds Best from a few places - it is very pricey though, which is why I have never bothered with it, am afraid I would rather spend the money on better quality food for them.
Milly's mum - I hate the smell of the pink stuff too, but am having to put up with it till the bag is finished, which will be ages as I only have one foster in at the mo, and she doesn't seem to go that much!! My neighbour uses it cos she thinks it works well at odour control - she doesn't realise that if she scooped her tray rather than just emptied it completely every other day (1 tray for 2 cats, but they do have outdoor access and also access to the neighbours house and his tray), then that might do a better job of odour control!!

I was in Asda last week and got some
They had the antibacterial which was 8L (I got that)
and the regular which was 10L
They are both £1.95
I was pleased when I bought it as I thought it was Catsan for 1/2 the price but there are white pawmarks all over the place. I will buy a different one tomorrow as I don't like the idea of them breathing in the dust + mopping the floor all the time >:(
-
well yes worlds best is expensive but 1 small bag (about 8 pounds) lasts 1 cat 1 month , infact lasts cody abit longer so it is cost effective. Also i give my cats good quality food aswell so theres no comprimise between litter or food !
the older boys use pine sawdust pellets, its bloomin awful for mess, tracking and sawdust everywhere..but their litter tray is in their shed so its not a problem, i have a big sized tray for them but with the size of sebastian (9 kgs) he always throws so much litter out which is why i dont use worlds best for them.
-
I love WBCL, partly becasue i can get the big 35lb sack cheap and it lasts well. Can be flushed straight down the loo which will be nice when summer comes. They wont all wee in it tho >:(
PS. If you try it, fill your tray with a good couple inches ;) ;)
-
yes you must use the correct depth, i learned that after trying to scrimp LOL.
where do you get the big bags for that price millys mum ?
-
Pets at Home now sell worlds best cat litter. More expensive than online but if you have a PAH near you it might be an easy place to get a bag just to try it out, then look for a better price if you want to stick with it.
-
Its the bulk rate. The mark up in the shops is disgusting :censored: :rage:
Seapets did have a half price offer on the small bags, not sure if its still on
-
thats lucky millys mum, one of the big benefits i miss bout working in a vet practice not gettin all my stuff cost price, pets were much cheaper to own back then  i used to pay about 7 quid for my cats vaccines every year, wormers at about half price, all food etc at cost price (big saving there LOL) not too mention anything else including actual vet treatments **sigh**
-
so how long would a bag last me
with 7 cats
and changing the tray everyday at mo
-
forever the best bit bout wbcl is you dont have to change every day as everything clumps and you scoop out and top up to the right depth. you might be best looking into trying some of the cats best chick crumb type stuff the others have spoken of as its alot cheaper and apparently is exactly the same.
-
Im trying to think how long a sack lasts but i have no idea when i opened it. Jan i think, its near the bottom of the sack now, i have 3 weeing in WBCL and 3 on clay.
For 7 you could try contacting the maufacturer and seeing if they could offer you a deal.
