Hi Guys,
I'm in need of some assistance from someone who would be local to the West Yorkshire (BD18) area???
Situation I have been given this morning is this:
Young lady bought 2 kittens from a guy in a car park (I know I know and they know... now!) thinking she was doing the right thing. The cliff notes version is this, young girl is in a very small bedsit and has room for 1 of the kittens but not the 2nd. The 2nd kitten by the sounds of things is not well socailised and is afraid of people and new circumstances and needs work to socialise and gain confidence. She has tried rehoming the 2nd kitten and it keeps coming back because of issues the kitten has and the poor thing is just terrified by the constant toing and froing.
There is no immediate family or friends willing to take the kitten due to its hehavioural issues and phone calls to several cat rehoming centres in the area has drawn a blank or they have been told that the kindest option would be to have the kitten PTS. I do not believe for 1 second that the kitten concerned is feral in any way it is just a very scared and anxious kitten who needs some stability and reassurance.
Hence my plea for help. We are happy to make room for this little one however the issue we have is with transporting the little one from West Yorks to Fife. We would need a chain of people to transport.
Alternatively do we have anyone nearer who would be able to step in and work with this little one rather than the unthinkable happen??
We just want to make arrangements to ensure the safety and care of this little one.... please post here or PM me if you feel you can help this little one in any way.

unbelieveable - I wish I could help hun - I hope someone can
-
I live on the otherside of Leeds but it would take me until sat/sunday to plead to my husband if we could help out this kitty - I'm in nottingham till then.
I can't promise anything as the last cat I helped I kept which didn't go over too well. But I can ask.
-
Fingers crossed for this little one.... The thought of pts for a healthy kitten is heartbreaking.... :wish: :'(
Good Luck Sabrina! ;)

thanks Sabrina, any help appreciated. Even if we can get a transport run that'd be great.
-
Sarah. I am going from Leicester to Lancashire on Sat 27th. I could pick up kitten and take, say, to the border if that is any help
-
If Sabrina cannot take the little one in then i can but i'm in the West Midlands
-
Alternatively, I could pick up on Sunday 28th on my way back from Lancashire and deliver to West Midlands if Millies Mum is taking him. Hope this helps

Any good news for this little one ??? :scared:

hi guys, sorry not posted am literally meeting myself coming backwards here at the mo! :(
I have been in touch with a lady I adopted to who is now living in the local vicinity to this case. She has contacts with Howarth and is going to see if they can take her. Failing that her partner regularly travels between there and Edinburgh so we would be able to get the little one up the road!
Its most definately not ideal for the little one to travel this far but may be all we can do if local contact falls through!
Beggars belief at times but we are so busy with calls and cases here I was amazed to get another call from Yorkshire yesterday along with 1 from Liverpool and another from wales!!! As much as I would love to be a miracle maker some things are just waaaaaayyy out of our reach!! ;)
 :thanks: to mm and moira for the offers of help... you are stars! will keep you posted!

lol they do now!! lol despite the fact it states in the opening para on our website we regularly get calls from all over the UK, which from the advice line side is fine its just when it is requests for help it gets a bit more tricky and I normally divert them to their local rescue's.
The only reason that I volunteered to step in and mediate or try to find someone local, etc on this one was due to the responses the person had been given by the local rescues regards PTS a healthy but anxious kitten and a lady truly at the end of her wits on what to do.

It the wonders of the internet I'm afraid.. I wrote about it in one of my bloggs for the Coventry telegraph last year - good if you home a special needs cat but not good when you get calls asking for help from the other side of the country!
