Title: Hi Life petit pate nutritional info
Post by: swampmaxmum on August 20, 2009, 16:07:42 PM
does anyone know anything about the calorie content of a single 85g can and phosphorus of this food please http://www.hilifepet.co.uk/osb/itemdetails.cfm/ID/34

I have emailed them but they take at least 5 days to reply acc to the website. The nutritional info on the website doesn't include this info.

I have managed to get Swampy to finally eat a little food and this is what he ate because he is snuffly and it stinks strong.

I've just had a look on the tin and it doesn't say does it.

My cats absolutely love that.

Hi Kate,
The Phosphorus, Protein, sodium & fat contents of the Salmon one and the Turkey one are on Tanya's CRF site but no calorie count.
http://www.felinecrf.org/tinned_food.htm

I was only thinking yesterday that cat food makers never list calorie content.

thanks Mark. No they don't, which is annoying.  The people who make/sell Applaws told me a small chicken breast can is about 85 cals if memory serves, which it often doesn't.  I know Hills k/d is the highest calorie can I've found at about 180 per 156g can. A/d is a bit less.

I'll post if they answer with the info. Their product has just been repackaged so not sure if the ingredients are the same or not as well.

Apparently the tins of petit pate have 90 calories each.  They fobbed me off with "industry standard" in response to my question on the grammes of phosphorus. So I've asked again.

You can calculate the calorie content if you know the number of grams of fat, carbs and protein per portion from the nutritional breakdown. Fat is approximately 9 calories er gram, protein and carbs are approximately 4 calories per gram.
