:tired: sigh, the boy went and done it last night.
We had candles lit in the fireplace, Cosmo saunters over for a treat and lays his tail on top of a lit candle  we scooted him out of the way pdq but the smell of singed tail fur was  really, strong.
Fortunately, the fur wasn't actually burnt, just feels a bit rough in a little patch on the back - a bit like melted plastic :evillaugh: So, Cosmo's fine - but we've had to air the sitting room big time. He really is a stoopid lump.
Just a reminder to be really careful with lit candles when the furries are around :scared: (At the moment he's out guarding the frogs in next door's pond.)

O dear, I had that once, or at least, my cat.
I left my then OH Dec 9 and at Xmas, I was kinda lonely celebrating with 2 of my kids. I had wax lights outside and suddenly I saw my cat's tail in flames. I was crying so hard, all my grieve over this sad period came out. But it was a persian and only his hair got burned a bit.
I quite panic now with cats and candles

The smell is terrible isnt it? Gyspy set her tail alight on the gas hob and she stood there on the worktop with her tail straight up in the air, in flames, completely oblivious, until I flung myself at her of course LOL! She was persian too - so it was just the fur, not skin, looking a bit odd for a while though!

ooh poor Cosmo :scared:

Can anyone smell burning :shify:
Sorry :slap: Glad there's no lasting damage

Cosmo's fine - he's been out frolicking in the sun all day and is now knackered :evillaugh: snoozing on the back of the chair.
Some time ago, his sister Jessie singed her whiskers when she poked her nose in a tea light :evillaugh: her whiskers have been curly ever since. Hope they've both learnt their lesson now but they're both soooo nosy :tired:
Note to self: do not leave curious kitties alone with an open flame, just in case...
