I hope that Angela (Pudding) won't mind but I just had to show you lot a picture of her new foster cat Zareth. :blow kiss:
Zareth was reported to us last Thursday. He had been visiting a gentleman in Herne Bay for a couple of weeks. The man became concerned because Zareth appeared to be hanging his front leg and was very nervous and darted off as soon as he was approached. The man did have a feeling that Zareth knew he was in trouble and was appealing to the man for help... so he called us. :)
Luckily we squeezed and shoved and made room as injured strays always take priority here. Angela delivered a trap to the gentleman and Zareth took very little effort to trap. :briggin:
Sadly on close inspection Zareth has somehow lost the lower part of his leg. You can just see the stump resting above his back paw. The vet says this injury could have been like it for 6-8 weeks. We have no idea how it happened but it could have been that Zareth got trapped and either pulled or bit his own foot off to escape. :'(
He was in a lot of pain when we first got him to the vet, but he has now been pumped with pain killers and seems a lot brighter and very friendly we are told. He will have a full amputation tomorrow and go to Angela for recovery. It's a good job he's not coming to me as he may not make it out the door again.... I just LURVE a soppy tabby.

Awww :Luv2:
Bless him, he is gorgeous.
Get well soon Zareth xxx :ahh:
-
awww , poor boy what has he been through? :'( :'(
He is rather gorgeous though - hope he finds his forever home soon and hope it all goes well at the vets and he recovers well :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
The poor boy, he looks such a love :Luv2: very best of luck for him
-
He is gorgeous and I am glad he asked for help - fingers crossed with his op and that he can go on to find a good home
-
Poor boy :( - he must have been in agony :'(
He is so lucky it didn't get infected or bleed to death. :( - A fox maybe?
-
Well it was infected, which is why he's had to wait a few days for his surgery - for the antibiotics to begin to work. I agree though, it is a miracle he is still with us. I try not to think too much about what he's been through or how it happened because I can't reverse it for him. :'(
I am seeing a lady on Thursday who owns a stables that we rehomed some semi-ferals to about a year ago. (You might remember the B&Ws from the housing estate near Tescos, Mark?) Her elderly house-pet puss passed away last week and she wants to talk to me about adopting a domestic now. Zareth would love it there.... no nasty traffic, fields of grass for miles, horses and ponies to hang out with and a couple of semi-ferals to keep him company as well. :sneaky:
-
what a horrible ordeal for him - I hope he manages to find a brilliant forever home once he is well enough
-
Poor baby, can't imagine what he has gone through :( Fingers crossed the op goes well for him and he finds the perfect forever home :)
-
I`m certain this gorgeous boy will come on leaps and bounds now he is getting the love and care he richly deserves
-
What a handsome puss he is :Luv: i hope everything goes well for him at the vets and that he soon finds that forever home to be loved and cherished
-
Well Zareth is out of the vets, minus one paw, and home with me for some (lots) of TLC. He is a fantastic puss with a bit of Big Cat about him. Not a lap cat but still loves a fuss.
-
Well Done Pudding for giving this gorgeous Chap some love and attention that he rightly deserves! :Luv:
-
Glad everything went well
-
 glad he is ok

I met Zareth today and he is an absolute darling. :Luv2:
