On our street we have two oldies tibby & marvin both quite old the do have an owner but since his wife left years ago (he hates cats) they live outside sleeping under cars and sheltering under them when it rain he never lets them in as far as i am aware he doesnt feed them they come in and eat our cat food i do leave food out for them and water and so does the lady accross the road but they deserve love attention and place where there owner loves them! is there anything i can do! am really worried that if they even need medical care it will not be provided i have seen the cats try to go inside but he blocks them with his foot or throws them back outside :'( he has a dog that lives inthe lap of luxory
it really angers me >:(

Hi Jeremy's mummy,
Poor cats that's awful, if the owner won't let them in the house and you've seen him throw them outside he sounds cruel to me so I would probably report him.
The only other solution I can think would be to ask him if he wants them (obviously not) and offer to find them another home and then ask around/rescues see if they can go their waiting lists.
-
i have tried asking him if he wants me to find them a home he just shurgs and says they are alright ere :(
-
Poor things, im sure he wouldnt even notice if they were to go missing :(

The Animal Welfare Act which states:
an animal must have a proper diet, including fresh water
has somewhere suitable to live
is kept with or away from other animals, depending on its needs
is allowed to express itself and behave normally
is protected from, and treated for, illness
Clearly they don't have somehwere suitable to live if they are not allowed indoors. You could try quoting the act to him - but he doesnt sound like the sort of person who would worry too much about that, sadly :(
-
Its a shame nobody is actively policing the act gillian >:(
-
Sounds as if this bloke has slipped into depression since his wife left him! :(
I know depression and the way he is responding in a care-less manner is a sure sign, I think in the long run this bloke isnt coping too well and does indeed need someones assistance with these two.... ;)
Think of the cats...thats what I always say..... :Luv:
-
Myself -well, i would get them to my house and take them to a no-kill rescue and let them be found proper loving homes and wouldn''t even speak to the guy at all .
I would only be interested in the cats welfare - no wonder she left him !!!
-
Its horrible poor kittys, i have phoned the rspca see what happens :)
-
I dont think they are very helpful and may suggest pts - isn''t there anywhere else ?
-
Could you encourage them to yours for now? Maybe feed them there and offer them the warmth and shelter they deserve. Then I am sure between us, we could find them a home somewhere?
-
Afraid RSPCA are likely to say they will come and kill them or leave them alone and they will go away >:( >:(
-
Please don''t deal with the RSPCA - these poor cats deserve a chance of a better life :(
-
personally i think they may just disappear.
if you are feeding them they obviously trust you, take them to a rescue, I'm sure he wouldn't notice if they did disappear.
Why did wifey not take them with her if they were hers :censored: :censored: Most annoying, people not taking responsibility for their animals

How are these cats now? I can't stop thinking about them?
