A friend of mine has two lovely indoor cats need to be rehomed as she’s moving abroad. She’s in Portsmouth. Those cats are about 3 years old, one male and one female, healthy, neutered and have up-to-date vaccination records. She loves the cat so much and worries a lot that if she just put them to local ad web she can't guarantee a good home for them. As she's moving, obviously she couldn't do return visit or know the updates for the cats anymore. She went to local rescue centers but was told they all had very long waiting list. She could do a direct rehoming before 17th August while she's still in UK but afterwards needs a foster home. She's willing to send the cats anywhere in UK to the right owner.
My friend has had them for about 3 years since they were kitten. The reason that she kept them indoor is just that she cares about them so much, sometime a bit over worried I think. She was worrying about them getting ill, getting dirty, getting hurt or even getting lost. So she’d rather keep them in the house and the cats are now quite used to this kind of life style. They are still young so they are playful. The boy is a bit naughty, as always, and the girl is simply adorable. They’ll be perfect companies for anyone really. They’ve made a perfect pair and she would prefer someone having both of them.
I’ve attached a pic for them here. It was taken when they were younger and slimmer. The boy’s got a lot bigger now. They are indoor cats and she would prefer them remaining indoor. You can see they are really clean as she basicly gives them a bath every other day......
Anyone can help?
Many thanks!

Has she considered taking them with her?
Blackcat on here took her 2 cats and her dog to Tazmania with her.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes she seriously considered taking them with her. But there are several issues invovled. First one is of course the quarantine. But the most important reason was she's going abroad without a proper job yet. So she would be a bit floating for sometime and she's afraid she could not look after them well. Also the two cats are quite used to their life here. She finally decide that let them stay here will be the best for them.

unfortunately 2 weeks isn't very long to find a rescue place - good luck

Hello Miafey and :welcome: to Purrs
Your friends cats are stunning - I hope that she finds a home for them - please keep us updated
-
Thanks all
This home is indoor only and i have several potential FIVs that could fit the bill. Some in rescue a long time and some with possible PTS.. so you can imagine that although these puss cats look lovely and well cared for and are obv desperate for a home.. It will probably be the FIVs that take preference.. Does that sound horrid!! I hope not.....One puss cat is blind as well so a very worthy cause..
One thing i would say though is that if they were in "our rescue" i wouldnt really rehome as indoor only i would try to find a nice home where they could go outside..We had a few pairs in a few months ago that were soley indoor cats and both got rehomed as cats that could go out.. Some may not agree with its something we do.. However best of luck with these 2 and i hpoe you find a nice place for them, they look lovely.
2wks isnt a lot of time for a rescue placement to be found though.. esp in the middle of summer.. We havent really touched our "in list" of owned cats for a month or so... if not more.. We just keep getting emergencies!!
Best of luck and wish you well!

Hey, thanks for the reply. Yes i understand it's peak time for kittens and rescue centers are offen very busy with incoming cats. Just want to try everything I can for her to make sure cats going to good home :) As for those cats, it was her wish to keep them indoor. I think maybe they are now not good at living outside as they were kept home for so long.
Anyway, we all hope the cats can find a loving home

I'm probably the nearest rescue on here, being in Gosport, but unfortunately I am full to bursting with kittens and adults at the moment, there are no spare rooms and I even have one living on top of the kitchen cupboards at the moment.
Have you tried Second Chance Rescue, based in Southampton, and also Chichester Rabbit and Cat Rescue, though I think both maybe in the same boat as me at the moment.

-
I'm meeting the two cats (and owner) today at 4pm.
Gill: lets hope my boyfriend feels the same way! it's he's got the deciding vote, as I would take them both in a flash!
-
So glad! Well my friend would tell you the live story how her "cat-allerty" boyfriend finally fell in love with those two adorable cats :)
-
do we know the outcome?
-
Cass went to visit the cats and would discuss with her bf to see if she could take both
figures crossed...
-
Unfortunately Cass can't have them as not allowed by landlord. So sadly we are still looking for loving home for these to poor cats and we are running out of time.
Anyone can offer them a home, please!
:(

Now rehomed!
CP portsmouth got them and I believe they'll go straight to their new owner soon!
Many thanks to everyone here!
