Hi, had flora at the vets Friday as she started sneezing & her eye was running.
Vet gave her 2 injections, one was a anti-inflammatory, the other a 14 day anti-biotic.
This afternoon Pod was sick (he has been sick a few times this last week - something he never does)
Now he is slavering and sneezing. He is still eating and waltzing around growling at the stray which keeps
showing its face in the back garden.
Flora was not slavering at all.
Pod does not have runny eyes.
Advice much appreciated.

Hi Tina,
Sorry to hear both kitties aren't well, I'd probably wait and see how Pod is tomorrow and if he's still sneezing let the vet check him over too in case he's caught what Flora has, hope they are both better soon. Let us know how they get on
-
Hi, vet said it seemed Flora has a upper respiratory virus.
But she didnt have the stringy slavers hanging.
-
I think I'd try to get Pod a vets appt tomorrow, vet should know whether its likely that he has the same thing as Flora. Either way he might need abs. Hope they are both better really soon!!
-
I would keep a close eye on them, 2 of my cats got this and within a week one of them was dead :(
Not trying to scare you there just be on the look out for things like hiding away, not eating drinking ect-if they get seriously ill they will need intensive care back to health
-
The vet has a emergency hospital. Watching his every move, his eyes seem different, like sunken in, and dull.
I am worried sick, because i lost rosie, she had picked up an infection from a stray tom. and within
3 days it killed her red blood cells & they could do nothing to help her.
There is a stray here hanging about & they dont get on. (sure he is nuetered, but has no home around here)
-
Definately get a vet check and tell him about the stray and stuff
-
I have spoke to the vet at the emergency hospital.
They have advised me to keep an eye on him & the others.
If pod becomes lethargic during the nite i can ring them & take him straight in.
Rolo is also starting to rub at his nose and just wanting to curl up for cuddles.
They are all going to be seen by the vet.
Thing thats worrying is the stray thats hanging around, he will just keep coming back.
I have a strong feeling thats how my babies have become poorly, and my lot have come into contact
with stand offs. Pod is worst with it, he wont back off.
I am going to need help to sort this stray, but can not bring it in the house.
-
Lots of good luck vibes
-
:( Hope all is well, I agree you need to get some help to sort the stray out too, have you tried CP? (sorry if it's on another thread)
-
you are not going to get much sleep tonight, I fear , but it must be a relief to know there is somewhere to take him/them in an emergency
-
Definitely take him for a check up tomorrow if you have a feeling that it's necessary. Glad Flora seems to be perking up.
-
I feel sick with worry :'(
-
-
Pod's slavering are gettin worse. His eyes are dull and sunken.
Taking him to emergency vet hospital now.
He is very unsettled.
-
Sending Pod lots of good vibes, i hope its not serious and they can treat him.
-
Do hope Pod is ok
-
The visit to a & e ?
Come out with Synulox. His symptons are different to what Flora's were.
His Temp was.nt running high, so she didnt give him anything last nite.
This morning he is still salivating & doen not look well at all. :'(
I am ringing my vet this morning. Rolo does not look well either this morning :'(
-
Good luck at the vet today Tina. Hopefully just a bug - different cats can have different symptoms just like people. It's horrible when our pets are sick :(
About 6 weeks ago, Kylie went off her food and huddled up in her house in the garden. I took her to the vet and she had a temperature. She was given a synolox jab and a week's antibiotics but she was a lot better within a day - lets hope it's the same for yours
-
Fingers crossed the vet has some positive news today
-
Gutted... come home without big lad pod-pod :'( :'( :'(
They are doing blood tests etc, he is really poorly. Temp is 40 plus.
Rolo has had the injections flora had on friday, his temp also 40plus. Rolo is not as lethargic as Pod.
And pod slavering was getting thicker & worse, he tummy was sort of convulting as if he wanted to be sick, but was'nt.
The vet thru the nite should of done more, my vet reckons they should of given him an injection like the others had.
But she said that she prefers to give tablets & let their immune system fight it off.

-
Sending lots of good wishes for Pod and  for you.
-
They have done blood tests. Spoke to the nurse as vet was in surgery.
All she said that his white blood cell count is high. They have given him a couple of injections (like others got)
and keeping an eye on him, and have a fan on him to keep him cool as temp still high.
Just want him back home :'(
-

Have got Pod back home. He is still very poorly. The medication has brought his temp down a bit.
Now just got to keep close watch and hope the dose of antibiotics works for Pod & Rolo.
Pod is the biggest & always been the most healthy, yet this has hit him the worst.
He is still salavating and very weak. Worried sick, the fear i might loose my big lad :'( :'( :'(
-
lots of :care: for Pod and your other kitties too xx
-
Just keep a good eye on him and the others and if they start to slip down get em back to the vets straight away. I hope thae abs do the trick

Hi, Pod still very poorly. We are watching him constantly, and making sure he has food & fluids.
I went back to work today, but mick slept on the settee & is off work to keep close eye on him.
Pod keeps going & hiding inside the litter box (clean litter) so not sure if its because he wants to be in
a dark place, so have closed the blinds to keep bright light out.
He is still slavering, and seems to be fighting his sleep. He just keeps sittin in the mud as we call it (front legs folded in)
I am just prayin for him to bounce back to his "Pod the Sod" naughtyness.
Rolo seems to have shook it off quickly, like Flora did. They both have pestered Mick all day to play out, but they are not allowed.
Keeping close eye on Splitz, but so far she is ok (fingers crossed) but if she does look unwell, the vet will see her straight away.
So please keep sending your vibes here,
Thank you XX
-
Definately sending massive good vibes for POD
-
Sending lots of vibes for POD, glad the others are feeling better
-
Sending lots of good vibes for POD.
TINA could you find a cardboard box and put it some where quiet for him to go in, of course with his blanket or bedding inside but leave it side way so he doesn't need to jump, he can just go in and hide. From my experience with Phoebe some times when not well they like dark and quiet places. x
-
Sending lots of purrs and get well vibes for Pod and hoping the others continue to recover.
-
Topping up the positive, healing vibes for POD - really hope he is feeling better xxx
-
Hoping your gang get back to health very soon

Glad other kitties are getting better
-
Hoping all is okay with Pod and the other kitties! :Luv:
-
Thank you for all you positive vibes
Pod has been back to the vet tonight. He has had another injection and ihe is also going to be stating the other antibiotics
as an extra boost. He was very reluctant to go back in the carrier so decided he'd draw micks blood :naughty:
But back home he ate some chicken and had a drink of milk. He seems more relaxed and has started licking his lips and washing
his paws. Still a long way to go.
Splitz was also at the vet, she has now :'( She has had the treatment they all got.
BUT.... the vet got her second injetion and claws ripped into him, the vet nurse got the claws & her blood was dripping. Mick also got it,
and she decided to bite me. You just know what splitz thinks of vets.
All still under constant watch, scared to leave them in the house alone, so mick been in all the time
and still sleeping downstairs.
Thanks for all your vibes XXX
-
Sounds like POD is slowly turning round and your vet must love yours
I am pleased they have all now had the same treatment and does sound that the other cat has passed something on.....what does your vet say?
Lots of good vibes for all of then overnight and tomorrow
-
Glad things seem to be improving Tina and hopefully they will all be much better soon, what a time you've had
-
Vet said its is likely that they have picked it up from the stray.
Last time i seen the stray it looked poorly, his eyes seemed watery and dull.. I have been given a number for the local CPL,
as this cat needs to be caught.
But funny thing is, its not been back this week, and it used to be around everyday or evening.
because i would get mine in as Pod & Rolo used to chase it.
Pod has had a better sleep tonight, splitz is on our bed, will be keepin close eye on her.
Her age is worrying bein so poorly, she's 14 :'( cant get her to eat or drink since she has come back from the vet.
But keep wetting her lips so she licks them.
Thank you all again for all your vibes :grouphug:
-
The poor stray maybe very ill somewhere :(
-
I'm afraid that seems very likely :(
-
Glad Pod is getting better -hope they all pick up now with the vet treatment - guess the vet and vet nurse also needed treatment
I hope the poor stray is ok though -he really needs catching and taking to a vet too - poor boy :'(
-
My babies seem to be a little bit more lively, but still a long way to go.
If i could get the stray i would take it to a vets, but i cant take the chance bringing it in the house.
-
Glad they seem a little bit better
I would ask the CP to loan you a trap for a week or 2, have you asked?
-
Cant get answer from local cpl.
Pod has perked up a little more, he still sleeping alot tho.
Spoke to vet yesterday, and he has told me use he synulox (by dosage for each one)
As they have all gone chesty.
Gotta to call the vet this afternoon to with an update of how they are doing, as Rolo & Splitz have turned poorly again :'( :'(
-
Sending lots of love to your three
Has the vet said what it is......cat Flu??
Keep on at CP, have you tried finding their Branch online and emailing them too?
-
He said he is sure its cat flu, as they all have upper respiratory infections.
And nothing bad come back from Pods blood tests, just the count of white cells were high indicating he was fighting a bad infection.
He has been lucky to pull a bit strength back because he was going to be put on a drip.
Splitz is back at the vet today at 4.10pm as really worried as she looking like she is going back down hill, and she refuses to eat or drink now.
I am worried sick, she is an old girl now & doesnt seem to be fighting it like the others.
What ever it takes, i will give it a go, to pull them all back to strengh.
They are our whole world :'( :'( :'(
-
 tons of get well wishes for all your cats, what a worry for you :(
It's important the cat is caught so do keep at them to help
-
Glad to hear they are starting to pick up :) I know what its like when your cats have flu, the worry is never ending  Hoping they regain 100% health :)
-
Sending positive vibes Splitz's way for the vet visit
-
Poor old Splitz, she has had another 2 injections :(
She is going back tomorrow for another one, as one of them only lasts 24hrs.
She wasnt so naughty today, mick held her, so he got the claws & bitten :naughty:
and the poor nurse still had her finger bandaged up off her the last time.
Others have tablets twice a day to keep fighting the infection, but have problems giving Splitz tablets.
-
Come on Spitz eat em to bits :shify: :shify: I hope she starts to feel better soon
-
I hope that Spitz feels better soon and that all your other babies continue to improve :Luv2:
-
Im glad to hear that your babes are responding to treatment and am sending tons of positive healing vibes for all especially Spitz, hope she starts eating soon
-
Positive vibes being sent for Spitz~~~~~C'mon girl you can do it! :Luv:
-
Thank you all for your vibes.
Seems to be a slow process.
Splitz still very unwell :'(
A positive thing tho, we took them all to bed last nite so they snuggled up with me n mick :Luv2:
Rolo still very chesty aswell :'( but they are all still taking antibiotics.
-
Slowly but surely and I am sure Spitz will get there
