Title: Cheapest place for Orijen?
Post by: Mark on July 12, 2009, 22:49:58 PM
Any idea?

I wanted to try it again as I am sure it will help Kylie lose weight. I didn't have much luck before but Christine gave me some the other week and Kylie is eating it now - I gradually mixed it in with the k/d that I wasn't really happy with her eating and have managed to wean her right off it now  :) - thanks C

I am not suggesting for a moment that you are stupid, I would not be so insulting, it is just that I always Google things that I am curious about. I meant no offence.

Sorry  - I normally google everything but not all sites come up on searches. I know for example Millysmum knows of a supplier in Essex that is cheap but for some reason doesn't come up on google searches. Also Anglie sells Orijen but would imagine she only sells it in the Midlands. Basically I was hoping for some tips. I know the price shot up last year as the main UK seller bumped the price up by about £10 a bag and Zooplus followed suit. Just hoping someone knows of a cheap supplier.

Thanks Pav - that's really kind but the postage will be high for that. I still have well over 1kg left from the bag Christine gave me 2 weeks ago. Thanks anyway - really appreciated

Who was it then?  - I assumed it was you as I remember they are in Essex and you are an Essex Girl  :evillaugh:

Whatover this company are delivery once a week in certain postcodes in the South. As far as I remember, they were the cheapest after Zooplus hiked the price right up.

I think Sheryl found somewhere in the UK that was reasonable - she's not in Esseex though  :shify:

Hopefully she will see this. I'm sure it was £35 for a 5kg bag at zooplus then shot up to about £48  >:(

Hi Mark - I dont live in Esseex (Helens spelling not mine ) but have to confess to being an "Essex Girl"

Zoo Plus have reduced the price again Mark so thats where I have been ordering from, there is a company in the UK but they work out more expensive.  I am going to have a look around and will let you know if I find anywhere cheaper - I contacted Orijen to see if they do the Breeder packs (normally 15kg) but they dont unfortunately.  I was mixing it with Arden Grange sensitive to save a bit of money but the price of that has increased recently.

Thanks Sheryl. I am tempted to try the fish one as well. I got fed up waiting for it to become available.

I remember in the 80s telling my mum an Essex Girl joke and she said "That isn't very nice as your sister is an Essex Girl"  :-: - she just didn't get it. :-:  :evillaugh:

Well this is a new one on me - when did this happen? - it is now available in some pet shops. I knew CovCats stocked it but there are lots of places, including a pet shop near here in Herne Bay http://www.orijenpetfoods.co.uk/acatalog/stockists.html#england

Probably still cheaper online but good to know. I will ask my vet again as he looked at me blankly when I mentioned it for weight loss.

Seems like the cheapest place for 7kg bags (maybe too big and will go stale?) is Petplanet £36.95 with free delivery (Zooplus £39.95)
Zooplus works out £36 if you buy 2 x 7kg but that is a special offer. Mutley & Mog is £33.95 but £4.50 delivery
