I can't believe it is a year since I embarrassed myself with Liz Smith :-[ - Not sure if she will be there this time as she is still getting over her stroke.
I think OH will go as it is a lovely area and they have stalls selling books, food etc. Also, lord Whisky Sanctuary is nearby and you can get a sunday roast - the profits go to the sanctuary.
RM FIV enclosure should be up & running by now - they also have a large Feral enclosure. If anone isn't too far away, it is a lovely day out - It's between Canterbury and Folkestone. http://www.rhodesminnis.co.uk/
It's our own branch open day today which I will have to miss as I can't expect OH to go to 2 cat things in one weekend :evillaugh: = maybe just 1/2 hour on the way to Canterbury or something? :shify:

Hope you have a brill time Mark and I suppose I don't have to ask you to take some photos cos you will be doing no doubt. :Luv2:

I can't find the thread. I can find the one where I mentioned the open day but they aren't there. The coffee is kicking in and I remember someone in Essex was after 2 cats and I posted some pics on that thread but from memory, the person never posted again.
Edit - Found a few
PAT cats here http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,17468.0.html
few more here http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,16662.0.html

Thanks Mark - the black and white one looks so laid back.
Hope you get some nice pics tomorrow.

These 2 were in the FIV enclosure :Luv2:
It is basically a tennis court - there were more but they were hiding or sleeping

Aw what a couple of gorgeous bruisers! :Luv2: :Luv2:

A few more - it was hard to take photos as most cats were hiding behind their beds or sleeping. It was also hard to take photos through glass. They have a few that are allowed free access such as the British Blue looing one. I got to speak to the chairman of the trustees and he said things are bad and it is impossible to home a cat with any issues - even one on a special diet :( :Luv2:
The Birman(?) was in the feral enclusure. The other photos came out really bad. Strange but I got to fuss a couple of "ferals" and even got a purr

The BS? - I added more. One torti was really unusual - just white with splodges of colour :Luv2:
The big b/w kept hiussing at me then came over for a love :Luv2:

Oh poor little thing :'( But I guess with a lot of TLC theres a very cute kitty there, just waiting to emerge :Luv2:

Oh I love it! I just want to give it a big cuddle.

Anyway, we won the Tombola twice! - the first 2 times we tried - it was 10 for £2 - we spent about another £10 with not luck. I won a bottle of Sainsbury's Basics white wine  and Dennis won a fruity doap set :evillaugh:
Sharon and Gillian were just leaving when we arrived and Julie and her husband Terry arrived not long before we left. Liz Smith wasn't there this year (She is the patron). We also had meringues with chopped Strawberries and double cream.

I am clueless about peds but to me, it seemed to have that kind of face - what is it then? :evillaugh:

LOL! Yes it deffo looks like a British - its just that you said British Blue, but its cream :evillaugh:
Is that little spikey tabby a kitten?
-
I tgought British Ble was the breed but nothing to do with the actual colour :evillaugh: - is there such a thing as a British Cream? :evillaugh:
I think "Spike" was an old lady but could be wrong. Whatever, she seems like she really needs a warm lap and soon :(

Nope, British Shorthair is the breed - blue is one of the most popular, dare I say 'common' colours :evillaugh: - and yes, they come in loadsa colours - solid colours like blue, cream, black and white, plus tabbies, torties, colourpoints - you name it! :)
Oh, I like Spike even more if she's an old lady :Luv:
-
I love the lool of British shorthair cats :Luv2: - almost like a persian that has been clippered? :evillaugh: - also they look quite muscular?

Yes they do. They are quite chunky cats, I like that too. That cream one looks very chunky. :Luv:
-
Glad you had a good day Mark - pics are lovely especially as they were so difficult to take. I think I would have been in tears as I was leaving as I would have wanted to take them all home with me :Luv2: :Luv2:

That is the downside to going to these things but apparently they do really well on rehoming and raise a good amount of money. One thing that makes me a bit uncomfortable is the chairman of the trustees told me that some rescues don't agree with his policy of not doing homechecks. He said they are too busy for that and go on gut feeling - they refuse to home to certain areas. He said if someone comes with proof of address and they get a good feeling about the people, they can leave with a cat.
