I know it's not my fault, just a bit of an accident. I have a little halogen heater and the cats often snooze in front of it. It is only on when I'm at home and if they start playing in front of it they get shooed away.
Well, this morning I put it on and sat down to check my emails when there was this funny smell. Smelled a bit like farts so I asked who had dropped one :evillaugh: When I looked down, the little man was a little too close to the heater and was smoking! :-[ I chased him away but it was too late. Patch of singed fur on his side just above his leg :-[ Can I just say though, that singing cat hair smells FOUL! A mixture of human hair and farts, I kid you not  Poor love was sniffing the air wondering what the smell was :evillaugh:
He's all fine, just superficial, just had a good rough up of it now he'll come up and sit with me occasionally. The patch is brown too, he looks like he's been in the wars what with his half bald ear too that is just starting to get it's hair back.
Still, I feel quite bad for not noticing he was too close quicker. I have to say though, he wasn't that keen on moving!

Oh bless him, :Luv2:

Aww bless him, don't beat yourself up about it though, these things happen its hardly like you did it on purpose

I used to have an open coal fire as my only form of heating, and my siamese used to sit so close that the smell of singeing fur was a regular part of my evenings in front of the TV
never seemed to bother her enough to move away though :sneaky:

Oh I can relate to that smell  Honey currently has a long brown singe mark along her side and half the fluff on her tail is gone after she walked across the gas hob while I had something bubbling away on it  , and Gypsy once caught her tail alight doing exactly the same thing!

I'm terrified of Samson getting up on the hob while I'm cooking. He's such a nosey boy that I'm convinced that one of these days he'll set himself alight!
