Title: Daughters cat had a seizure
Post by: woodlandcats on July 06, 2009, 14:23:07 PM
I received anSMS yesterday from my daughter telling me one of her cats had a seizure.
At that time, daughter was still asleep but her OH witnessed it.
She, however, just saw the end of it.
They phoned the vet on duty who said it's not abnormal for a cat at 7.
So we need vibes for the poor Janneke and we hope she can live another lot of years.
I suppose they will see their vet today for medication

Sorry but I think it is abnormal for a cat at any age and I hope they see a decent vet about this

Can seizures be heat related? with all this hot weather floating around and with a furry coat on it must have an effect.

When we saw the vet Frantas temperature was fine although his ears were hot.

No, I wrote it wrong, I mean : it's not abnormal it didn't occur earlier. From 7 years on, there is a possibility a cat develops epilepsy.
