poor charlies - there seems to be a lot of it lately, I wonder if the hot weather has anything to do with it - hope he recovers soon

Just rang the vet, he is under anaesthetic as I speak whilst they empty his bladder. Has had xrays and they are taking urine samples. My poor baby boy will be so stressed and anaesthetic does not do hyperesthesia much good. This week has sucked from major to minor - Charlie, scammed credit card, leaky roof and now my 2 year old expensive kitchen has started falling to pieces. Shall I scream or will you?

what a nightmare, why do things always come together - hopefully Charlie will perk up soon, my old cat bluto had struvite stones but only ever had one attack and recovered very quickly

He is still in hospital. I visited briefly last night to drop off his things but vet thought best he did not see me as might unsettle him. Little so and so was only interested in more food please. Not sure yet how long he has to stay but thank you for all your good wishes. Kitchen drawer fixed, credit card stopped, roofer coming today:)

He is home! He hasn't peed by himself yet but the vet thinks he is more likely to do so at home (even though it is the home environment ie neighbourhood cats etc) that have caused the stress. Anyway if no pee by late tomorrow morning he has to go back. Please send pee vibes:)

peeeeeeeeeeeee vibes sent. Have you run the kitchen tap near him? Sometimes the sound of gently running water can stimulate the brain. I know you aren't allowed to push his tum, but a gentle playful jiggle in the general area for 20 seconds sometimes encourages them. It can feel like a watched pot never boils I know :hug:

I keep popping back to this thread to read how poor Charlie is, and I think the pee-vibes are affecting me as Im off to the loo again!!! :evillaugh:
(Or it could be something to do with the gallons of tea, water, fruit juice etc Im putting away in this heat ;))

He has been on the tray but no pee - he did a poo though. Sarah (behaviourist) was on the phone whilst he was on the tray so we waited with baited breath. She is also a qualified vet and said not to worry too much tonight as his bladder has been completely emptied but if he hasn't gone mid morning tomorrow to ring my normal vet. It's like waiting for a kettle to boil and I have to be careful not to make peeing an issue! STILL NEED VIBES PLEASE

Its difficult not to keep watching them every time they go near the tray isnt it? I did it with Ben, there were a couple of false alarms, but that first proper pee is a huge relief - all round! :hug:
