Title: kitten teeth on carpet!!

Tilda, now about 5 months was trying to eat something small a few minutes ago from the carpet before i grabbed it, it was a tooth or part of a tooth. it's less than a cm long and almost looks as if it's 3 short blunt teeth joined together with the tooth in the middle the highest. (i really need a picture, sorry)

I just googled this Permanent premolars erupt at 4 to 6 months and the molars erupt at 5 to 7 months of age

^ so does anyone know if this is what it sounds like? she has no sign of pain but is far to playfull right now to inspect properly, although after a quick look everything seemed in place.

I really hope this is what it is, it never occured to me kittens loose their first teeth! i almost had a heart attack.

When they loose their teeth they are pushed out by the new ones so you wouldnt see a gap where they have been. My mum say's she's seen the teeth that have fallen out before but I never have with my cats, and I think they swollow them most of the time.

yeah, i also read this goes unnoticed by most owners as they swallow them. I just need to do a proper check when she's calm to set my mind at rest  :(

dont worry totally normal, the baby teeth like human baby teeth etc dont have proper roots as such and fall out with the adult teeth come up throught the gums,

Many are unnoticed and hoovered up or yes swallowed LOL

i think i only got one of codys canines.

ive never found any teeth
i find a few whiskers thou lol and claws

Don't worry, I found a couple of teeth (have three kittens) within a few days and panicked (about the same age as yours), I couldn't tell who had lost them but they were all fine.

I once found one of Zephyr's teeth ... actually it came out in my hand! .. he was chewing my finger and his tooth came out ... I felt terrible cuz I thought I had been playing a bit too rough with him until I realised it was a baby tooth and there was no gap.

I found 2 of Mosi's and kept them (they were so tiny and cute) but I don't recall finding any of Jaffa's.  I think you're lucky if you found some.

Is Tilda going to put them under her pillow tonight for the tooth fairy?
