Title: Phone call
Post by: Mark on March 10, 2007, 16:20:44 PM
Me: There is a house for sale in Nelson Road that says vacant possession and I walked past just now and there is a cat in the upstairs window
Estate Agent: It's not vacant possesion
Me: well it says on your website it is
Agent: That's wrong and anyway, vacant possesion means they will move out when you move in?????
Me: I was just worried about the cat -  as long as there is someone there that's all I wanted to know
Agent: There are a fews cats in the house
Me: well thanks anyway
Agent: Thanks for calling that was very nice of you

Mark not sure where Nelson Rd is but what about the neighbours. The Estate Agents not being very helpful, is there no one around to feed and water, surely thats not good enough for a empty house.

Wards estate agents said there are people in the house and it shouldn't say vacant possesion on the particulars (I only know as I was looking at their website this morning).

Nelson Road is round the corner from me - it's the road that leads from Oxford Street to the beach

It's this house  ;D

Good on you for checking Mark, just a shame about the estate agent not being too helpful.

Google gives a few meanings of 'Vacant possession'

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=define%3A+vacant+possession&meta=

Hoping the last definition is the case - meaning they will move out when the house is sold.
Very eagle-eyed of you, Mark!

It was just luck really - I don't even know why I looked at their site this morning it's not as If I need another house round the corner - especially a poky little house like that  :evillaugh:

I didn't knock at the door but the agent said it's not vacant at the moment - it's a scruffy looking house so hard to tell. I will keep an eye out though.
