For those who had read my worries with Purdey and her renal failure a quick update. Purdey went into renal failure at Easter. We came very close to losing her. Purdey spent several days in the vets surgery and on the drip. Its been a month since her last bloods were run so they were done again yesterday. I am thrilled to say all her counts are back within the normal range and the only treatment she has had in the last month is 2 drops of Renalzin added to some wet food in the morning. My vet is now certain that it was ARF. The blood tests will be repeated again in 3 months and again in one year but for now I feel I can breath again and stop constantly worrying about her (well as much as we ever stop worrying about them!).
Thanks for all the info and support from all here. You helped a lot.

Thanks and I'm sure you can picture the smile on my face!
We have no idea what caused the ARF. We live in a fairly rural area. There are some farms not that far from me, a stream by my house and a little wooded area. I also live at newish development. We are one of only a few houses at the start of it but back in its quite built up and who knows what she could have gotten into in a shed or garage. My cats do hunt quite a lot and bring home birds, shrews and mice so could have been anything she bit into. I'm just surprised that is it was poison that she didn't start fitting etc.
