Need lots of vibes for Monica one of our ferals, just waiting to take her to out of hours vet, she is off her legs, may have been hit, shes been with us 9 years and although she doesnt allow us to touch her is very precious to us and her feral pal Wilma, right vet seeing us 8pm so off.
-
I hope she will be ok
-
Sending hopeful and healing vibes for Moinca
-
Give her a virtual snuzzle from me, Teresa, please. Lots of vibes for your special black girl.
-
Just back vet said definate break can hear clunk, thinks pelvis and leg and tail, shes had pain relief and has been kept in for xrays tomorrow, poor Monica she doesnt deserve this neither does Wilma who is pityfully crying for her in the garden, those who have met these girls know they are nicknamed "joined at hip" because they are so bonded.
Vet offered PTS needless to say we refused, we will fight tooth and nail for her ,when will they realise that ferals are just as precious as domestics. Am just so upset for her.
-
Poor baby :care: Sending positive vibes her way and a  for you x

All fingers and paws crossed for Monica here at the Clan Cats and for her side kick to - our vet now understands our ferals and if they are in overnight they get the big isolation ward all to themselves
Hope its good news in the morning just somethign so special about the ferals who grace our lives

Love and positive vibes coming your way, hope Monica managed to get some rest overnight and is not in pain, and that the vets can fix her broken bones.
Poor baby :Luv:
-
Just caught up with this Poor little Monica :(
Sending all the healing vibes I can muster and  for you :)
-
Thank you all for good vibes and wishes
Monica has a broken pelvis, vet does not want to risk surgery because of risk of complications and her being feral, though he said we may have to consider surgery to pin her,its a case of wait and see, she hasn`t passed urine yet but not unusual for a caged feral; leg is not broken and wound has been stitched up; she is being sent home to be monitored for a few days and its going to be long term confinement while she heals.
-
Aw bless the poor baby, she's gonna have a scary few weeks ahead of her but I know that in her own way she thanks you for your help T! :Luv:
-
Hope Monicas recovery is swift. to you, Teresa.
-
Aw bless her, what a shame. I hope she copes ok with the weeks ahead.
-
Poor little soul. Am hoping Monica's recovery will be as gentle and untraumatic as possible in the circcumstances. Me and Paddy send every loving thought for her.
-
Sending healing wishes for Monica
:wish:
-
I'm so very sorry Teresa  Poor little girl and poor Wilma :(. Can only hope, like everyone else, that she surprises you with the speed of her recovery and is able to accept the necessary confinement :(
-
Bless her heart - wishing for a speedy recovery for Monica as stress free as possible xxx
-
Lots of prayers and vibes for Monica coming your way. :'(
-
We`ve just brought her home and settled her in a Pen, managed to put her in bottom Pen right by the door so hopefully with main door open Wilma will be able to visit her, trouble is Wilma is frightened without her pal and keeping a low profile; it makes you realise how difficult it is for animals,if a human is taken to hospital you can let your friends know,if you are an animal it is hunt around and live in hope that your pal will turn up.
Monica has 3 breaks in pelvis, one on left, one on right and one in sacral illiac area, we are to give her till Saturday am to pass urine and if not straight back to vets, her leg wound has been stitched and shouldnt cause any problems, now we just need piddle and healing vibes please.
-
Piddle and healing vibes on their way

Times two
-
All fingers and paws crossed here for the lovely Monica
T I know its am after thought but have you tried sterilised compost in her litter tray - we end up reverting to this for the ferals who have required cage rest and although messy as anything we have had a result
We paid our vet for the soil service when the late Tiger was hit by a car and hadn't been for 4 days and vets were giving us negative vibes till Robin said do you have any soil handy - this is at 11pm at night vet says we have a flower bed at front of hospital - good advises Robin go and get some soil in to his litter tray and he will perform - lo and behold vet got 4 days worth at 3am and phoned us to advise of result!
-
My thoughts are with Monica
it makes you realise how difficult it is for animals,if a human is taken to hospital you can let your friends know,if you are an animal it is hunt around and live in hope that your pal will turn up.
That is so true: there are so very many things I wish we could explain to them.
-
:thanks: all, at least she is eating ok.
Liz I always spinkle compost on top of litter when I confine a feral but thankyou, on the xray her bladder is huge and appears undamaged so its just a case of hoping she is able to piddle. Love the story about the flower garden at vets, you have to live with ferals to understand all their little quirks.
Have spent ages trying to point Wilma in Monicas direction to no avail, cant do a scent trail now because Monica smells of vets, short of putting little sign posts up all over the garden I`m lost for ideas.
-
T they are such special things the ferals that share our lives
have you tried a trail of nice food - we are currently after one of our chipped ferals Pebbles he is due to go to the vets in a weks time for boosters so traps are now out and we have a new commer a big tabby - I reckon its a boy and OH says a giirl lets hope it will go in to a trap and prove me right!
-
Sending lots of best vibes for Monica and hope that Wilma gets brave enough to visit
I have never dealt with a true feral but when Sasa needs to go to the vet its trauma enough and being locked up in prison is terrible for them :(
I do hope that Monicas breaks heal well and she doesnt get too upset in the cage
-
Loads of positive healing vibes coming her way~~~~~ :Luv:
-
Topping up the piddle and healing vibes.
-
 Hope that Monica starts to heal well and wees soon and that her best pal feels brave enough to visit xx
-
Fingers crossed she wees today, and that you can get Wilma to realise where she is.
-
Monica has eaten her breakfast and is more of her fiesty self this morning, she swore at me profusely when I checked to see if she had piddled her bedding, sadly still no wee so I`m, worried sick; thought Wilma was AWOl this am when she didnt appear at 5am but thankfully she turned up safely for a late breakfast at 7,shes still not found Monica.
-
Just been catching up with this topic, im so sorry to hear about Monica and hope the piddles soon start coming, maybe if she could see Wilma it may help, and i do hope Wilma finds her friend, it will probably be just the tonic they both need, could you put a little bit of grass in her cage to get her smell on it ,then put it outside and see if Wilma can locate her this way, silly i know but worth a try maybe
-
:thanks: Bonnielass will give it a try, trouble is Monica probably smells more of vets than monica now
-
:hoping that Monica has done wees now :wish:
-
:hoping that Monica has done wees now :wish:
Seconded! :grouphug:
-
:thanks:
Monica finally piddled around 9pm yesterday and has pooped today, so hopefully all she will have to endure now is a long period of confinement.
-
;D yey!! great news
-
Now, I hope, all we need is for Wilma to hunt her out
-
What wonderful news for you both, its a nice place Purrs here we can get excited about bodily functions without having to clean it up
Way to go Monica ;D
-
Now, I hope, all we need is for Wilma to hunt her out
OOps sorry Christine thought I had posted that Wilma found her early yesterday evening,
-
hope that wilma is still visiting today
-
So glad Monica has used her bottom end.....and even better that Wilma has found her friend! :Luv:
Im sure she will feel less distressed and more relaxed now!
Please give her a virtual  from me and mine....I dont want you getting the claw T! ;) :Luv:
-
So glad to hear that Wilma has been ;D
-
I am glad she can toilet and that her friend has found her.
-
Monica has used toilet again but is a little depressed this morning, she hasnt bothered with her breakfast yet.Wilma came to visit her late last night unfortunately she didnt see her because Milly chased her away.
-
Aww, poor Monica. I wonder if some REscue REmedy in her water/food would help her. I remember Ginger being depressed at staying in for 10 days, but at least i could cuddle him.
-
Poor Monica, being cooped up must be simply awful for her. I hope Wilma can get through today. Would Monica cheer up a little with some tuna or pilchards?
-
I do feel for them both :( ours are usually in pairs and I worry if I see one without the other or don't see them for a while so I can understand how you must feel Teresa
-
Im pleased to hear Monica has finally used her tray and best of all that Wilma has found her , you must feel better about the 2 of them now :) now you just have to keep Monica occupied while she recuperates ;D
-
Hope Wilma had more luck last night finding Monica! Positive vibes to the pair! :Luv:
-
Just popping by with a gentle little snuzzle for Monica.

Just popping by with a gentle little snuzzle for Monica.
My word your brave Aunty Suepoo
Monica is eating but mainly dry food which doesnt help when her pain relief goes in the wet food, she is coping with confinement much better than I expected, she even managed to raise her front legs into a sitting position yesterday. I am informed by OH that I wasnt paying attention to vets because she actually has 4 breaks.
Strangely enough she is occupying the same Pen she was in over 9 years ago when we first trapped her with newborn kittens, I keep getting flashbacks and seeing her gorgeous tabby boys of all those years ago.
-
Well, it was gentle - and at a distance. :shy:
Four breaks. She's been so gutsy and so fortunate to come through it to this point. Poor little lass. Let's hope it's all "onward and upward" now - time for her and Wilma to perhaps come in from the cold (metaphorically speaking).
